Why no Nosler load data for 6.8 Western

The 6.8 Western is a relatively new cartridge developed by a competitor. And correct me if I am wrong, but I do not believe that most of the major rifle and ammunition manufacturers have offered this chambering in their rifles and ammunition lines yet. They may be working on load development...

What is "reasonable" accuracy for a hunting rifle?

There could be a number of reasons why this rifle isn't shooting to your expectations: All of the bullets you have tried are longer, higher BC bullets that your rifle may just not shoot as well as a a regular cup and core bullet such as a Nosler Partition, Sierra GameKing, or Hornady Interlock...

    New girlfriend

Don't mean to sidetrack this thread, but would like to see your review after you have rung out the new NX6! (What reticle did you go with?)

    35 Whelen VS 375 Ruger

In my 9.3 x 62 (which also comes in the same version of rifle the OP mentioned for the 35 Whelen) I am shooting the Nosler 250 gr AccuBond ammo, and get 2550 fps with just over 3600 ft lbs of energy, and the LH Sako 85, 9 lb scopes rifle produces 0.674" groups at 100 yards. If I were to handload...

I need help with reloading a 280 Remington with 19 in barrel

All of my 280 Rems over the years have had 22" barrels. I ran 160 and 162 gr bullets in my first rifle (Browning A Bolt) with IMR 4350 and got great velocities and accuracy (sorry, no longer have the data). Worked well on game. Other 280s (mostly Rem 700 Mtn Rifles), I also used 160 gr bullets...

    Sighting fir non-hunting

While I do not shoot my handguns as much as most people, I have typically shot mostly at 15, 25, and 50 yards, and when I was practicing IDPA, it was varied to each set up by the range master.

Another question for all us hunters: Favourite method?

We are blessed to live in beautiful country, that is as diverse as the people and animals that flourish there! We are blessed that we also have the diversity in the game we pursue, that we can practice the different methods that are available to us, and teach us about the animals and the...

Another question for all us hunters: Favourite method?

Yes, you see more and more outfitters figuring out how to get disabled and others with verry limited mobility into the field to hunt, even in country with hills and ravines! Very neat and exciting to see these new hunters smile and laugh, not only after a successful hunt, but in just being in...

    My Favorite 45 Revolver

Back when we were still allowed to buy handguns here in Canada, I did a few searches trying to find a 3 screw BH in 41 Rem Mag over the years, without any luck. Was even willing to have it imported from the States, as I did my NMBH Stainless 4 5/8" in 41 Rem Mag, when I finally located one on...

Another question for all us hunters: Favourite method?

When I was in Saskatchewan back in the fall of '91, I got experience deer drives with the people I was staying with. A unique experience! We did get a few whitetails, including one big old bruiser (15 point!).

"By the book" in search of a "cloverleaf"

While velocity is nice, I'll take accuracy over velocity any day...but it is nicer when you get both! And no crutter is going to know the difference that it started out 47 fps slower (or is it alot slower than that?)...you'll just get a little more drop at longer distances of 300 yards and beyond.

    .257 Roberts hunters only

When Nosler brass was first made available, it all came prepped so one did not have to go through thatt process before heading to the primer tool. Today, you must watch as some of their brass is not prepped before packaging, but it usually tells you up front. Take the time to check! IIRC my new...

    Seating depth

If you have a long throat, you will have more jump to the rifling, and once you have hit max coal for your magazine, you may not be able to see as much improvement from seating depth changes as one would with a chamber with a shorter throat where fine tuning seating depth can show marked...

    Quick load using H380 - 250-3000 savage

Good to see someone getting good results from the ol' 250 Savage! 39 gr looks like your huckleberry with that bullet!
