Over the years I've had 3 Oehler, a MagnetoSpeed and now a GARMIN (purchased before ATHLON was available). Nephew has a LabRadar. As mentioned the Oehler were a bit of a pain to get set up and aligned and don't like bullet strikes :rolleyes:

I have a nice Kudu from my Botswana trip in ‘21 so I’ll say Nyala is #2 and Kudu #3 after the Buffalo, but I am not about to pass up a Really good Kudu unless in the middle of a serious stalk for one of the other 2. We’ll see, report when I get back.

You might find that the only people that will do a regrind as you mention is the original maker. And it might cost you as much or more as a new reamer in your chosen 2nd cartridge.
