Depends on the cost of the barrel and who you have twist it on. My guy out of Bend runs between 650-750 to buy a Douglas barrel, thread, chamber and contour, crown and glassbed into the stock (and blue if necessary).
That .25 Creed in a Rem 722 should be a fairly straightforward proposition!
I have always wondered why Winchester didn’t go the .308 Norma Mag/.30-338 route with their .300 Win Mag cartridge design. A 180 grain bullet at 2950-3000 fps is perfectly possible therein. I have always thought about taking a Springfield ‘03 or Enfield 1917 sporter and having it reamed out to...
Where are you all at on this apparently hot-button issue? I have heard much scuttlebutt lately decrying the firing of .38 ammunition (especially in revolvers) chambered in .357 Magnum. The fly in the proverbial ointment being that prolonged application will result in gas erosion in the cylinder...
My favorite .357 Bisley Blackhawk has the 7.5” barrel, unfluted and engraved cylinder, and factory Ruger grips. It shoots AMAZINGLY with both .38 and .357 loads (factory and handloaded).
I have yet to kill anything besides ground squirrels and rattlesnakes with it but hopefully that will change...
I killed my first few elk with an 8mm Rem Mag in a standard as issued Remington 700 BDL. Like Don said, its a great cartridge but bullets were exceedingly difficult to acquire. We shot the 220 grain Sierra Gamekings.
CCI Standard Velocity shoots AMAZINGLY in my Model 52 Winchester. I use the CCI High Velocity 40 grain roundnose in my High Standard Sport King, it is accurate and functions well.
With brand new brass, I will wear cotton gloves to keep from staining them with bullet lube greasy fingerprints. Then I was my hands with soap and water afterwards like always. Like others have said, the latex (or vinyl, nitrile, etc.) gloves get rather sweaty if worn for a long time.
Does anyone have any experience with audio to text transcription technology? I would like to buy or download software that enables me to take voice notes and transcribe them verbatim to a word document. I would also like to be able to write via speaking into a microphone on my computer.
Thanks...
