If you're looking for that kind of velocity, I'd be inclined to stick with the more stoutly constructed regular Accubonds. I'm sure the ABLR would do just fine as well, but I have never ran them more than 3000 fps or so. I've been very fortunate in getting the ABLR's to shoot without issue. They...
Thanks for all the info everyone. It's very hard to see, but the price tag on that can is $30 something for 4 lbs. Wish I could find one pounders for that price!
I was just gifted this almost full 4 lb canister of Red Dot but I have never used Red Dot before. What loads have y'all used this for? It's obviously on the old side, but is in excellent condition. I ask this because I do not load for shot shells. Any help would be appreciated.
It shoots great, right around an inch or a little less if I do my part with very little load development. It wasn't a max load, so I could get more velocity but it's working so well I might leave it alone.
Dang, I havent eaten near as many different animals as most of y'all.
For me, any kind of deer I love but mostly eat whitetail. Also wood duck is amazing.
I've never had issues getting Partitions to shoot well. Maybe not dime size groups but never more than 1.5" at 100 yards. That's been in bolt guns and single shots from 243 Win to 30-06. I absolutely love them for deer and hogs. They are also excellent at lower velocities like out of a single...
Have you checked the COAL or base to ogive on the factory loads compared to your handloads? ABLR's can be finicky at times with seating depth, often preferring to be seated deeper than normal cup and core bullets.
I have a couple pounds of N565 to try in my 6.5 & 7 PRC's. N565 has consistently been getting rave reviews for accuracy and velocity in those cartridges and others. It has a decoppering agent and is suppose to be temp stable. IIRC all their newer powders have the decoppering agent.
