Nice work Don.
We have been rebuilding our aqua gate that had failed. Put in a second barrier with sheet pile and reattached the 12” tile. Bring on the rain!

I use the 250 gr AB in the 338 RUM as my go to bullet for crop damage deer hunting. It performed flawlessly on countless deer, internal trauma and golf ball size exits.
The 150 gr AB out of a 308 Win will open up nicely on deer size game.

Either one will work just fine. I’d pick the one that shoots the best. You can also use the Ballistic Tip. Grab some seconds to some cost savings and you can use them for practice.

You are gonna love the 280 Remington. It’s a great round with a lot of potential.
I pretty much ran 140’s in my 280 Remington on top of RL19 and IMR/H4831 for 3000 fps.
The 140 BT accounted for several WT deer, mostly DRT.

I started out with a 30-06 and ended up with 2 of them.
From there it got a 243 Win and then a 280 Rem. I moved up to a 35 Whelen and then down to a 257 Roberts. Then the 338 RUM came along. I’ve taken 100+ animals with it and it’s been my favorite. I do switch it up now to include the 375 H&H...
A buddy was just telling me about a M71 that might be available but it might be cost prohibitive. Apparently the owner turned down a $2000 offer.
The 348 Win is pretty cool.

I’ve actually been thinking of doing something similar on the NE corner of our property so I can plant some white cedar. The fencing would allow the cedars to get established and not get mowed down by the deer.
You guys are right that a fence line would be a funnel. Depending on where existing...
I would agree with Don, $1500 for a stamped 7mm Express in unfired condition seems fair and reasonable. Just be patient and wait for the right buyer.
Good luck with the sale.

I’ve never really noticed a difference in brass weight. What I find interesting is my 338 RUM shoots R-P and Federal nickel plated to the same velocity and POI out to 800 yds. The Federal cases are a few grains heavier.
As for powder, RL22 would vary from lot to lot but I resolved that by going...
