I think it looks great! As I am becoming the minority of people who still prefer a good looking rifle to have a wood stock, it pains me to see companies no longer providing them as much as they used to.
Nicely done. I’ve always thought the .260 was a great cartridge that never got the traction it could have based on the platforms it was introduced in at the time. Obviously your platform is squared away!
I’m running a 250 grain Partition with h4895 and get good results. Not a speed demon at just shy of 2500 fps but it’s a 22 inch barrel. The load is pretty much interchangeable with the 250 Speer Hot Core. I doubt there is much that would walk away from either load.
Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on your views, I’ve only recovered 1 Accubond. That was from a Gemsbok with a 160 AB out of my 7x57. My youngest daughter has taken 2 Antelope with a .243 90 grain AB. A straight on shot turned the lights out. I didn’t go looking for the bullet as...
Hmmm, interesting results from the Accubond. I’ve shot Elk, Bear, Deer, antelope and some African critters with the Accubond and never had anything other than amazing results, Guess I’ll count my blessings and cross my fingers my luck keeps going.
I can only comment on the .300 WSM. I have a Kimber 8400 and I love it. It’s accurate with whatever factory load and stupid accurate with 180 and 200 grain Accubonds. But the biggest reason I love it is the weight. I was toting a Winchester .338 high in the mountains and at the end of...
Couldn’t agree more Guy. If we could shave the population about 30% and get back to some middle of the road common sense this place would be heaven.
PS…My username has nothing to do with my political views🤣🤣
My load so don’t use it but work up to what’s good in your gun. In my Ruger No 1 6.5x55 IMR 4350 gets me 2640 fps with a 140 Partition using 44 grains. 43.5 grains gives me the same velocity with the Ballistic tip or Accubond. My gun is the international version with a short barrel so I’m...
Nicely done! I have guns that belonged to both Grandads and my Dad. Like you they will get out occasionally for a hunt here and there. It’s a great way to keep the memories going.
