Plans for this one have floated around the internet for a long time. Nothing fancy but it seems to work with a cheap torch. He had better plans for the torch holder but never got it finished so I made one with a scrap of plywood.....ugly but functional.
All,
My FIL started building one of the DIY brass annealers in 2021. Unfortunately he passed before it was finished so my son and I finished it up. Today was the first time using it since I hadn't finished the load development with my 300 RSAUM. Thought a rainy day would be a good...
I mostly shoot 240 grain and heavier but almost always use 2400 for hunting loads. Even though I wear hearing protection, it seems to have less muzzle blast than H110/W296. I also use it in .357 mag hunting loads for the same reason.
Same reason I'm holding onto my 300 SAUM brass like it's gold......somtimes the logistic tail doesn't support what they deveoped. Hopefully they'll do a run so people can stock up.
.308 Win 125 grain Accubond (2945fps) has been used on several deer with the largest weighing 182lbs hog-dressed and shots out to 225yds. Do not always get a pass through at close range but most of them fall within sight.
30-06 150 grain Accubond (2885fps) used on a handful of deer up to about...
For .357 I use MP Mold 359-640 that weighs right at 160 grains. For the 10mm I use MP 401-200 mold (Not sure on the number) that weighs 186 grains. The 44 uses a MP 432-256 SWC HP mold that weighs around 260 grains. All are cast with 50% pure and 50% wheelweight lead with around 2% tin. If I...
I've used Accubonds in .308 (125gr), 30-06 (150gr), 6.8 (100gr) and 243 (90gr) with shots from in your face to about 250yds. Everything I shot with them except one deer have died promptly with excellent bullet performance. The one deer was never recovered so not really sure what happened in...
As my dad used to sayin reference to gas prices, "they can't drink it". Buy only what you must have and leave the extra on the shelves at the store. Once inventory starts to get excessive prices will drop. As long as people pay the prices, they prices will stay high.
