    A Request for Quickload

Thank you so much for this info. It is such a big help. I had concerns running the loads up to 57.5 gr. All people say that 57.0 and 57.5 gr loads are a perfect match for the 165 gr and the 30-06.

    A Request for Quickload

Hi folks, I am looking to see if there is any Quick Load info for 30-06 Win 22 inch barrel 165 gr Nosler Partitions H4350 CCI200 Primers 3.355" OAL. I have done a search and only found the data for the Ballistic Tip. I'm unsure if this data would be the same for the Ballistic Tip and the...

    New To Me 30-06 Loads

The Nosler tables does list the 57.5grn load of H4350 as it's most accurate load they tested. Maybe it's worth the play to gain that extra fps out of the 165 pill.

    New To Me 30-06 Loads

If you look at my pics of targets the 56.5grn load is not a bad grouping. The 57.0grn is not bad as well. Maybe I just never decided to try to run OAL set to see if either of those loads would tighten up for a group. Maybe it might be worth my time to try them. I just loaded a length from a...

    New To Me 30-06 Loads

OK. An update on the 55.5grn load and seating depth. It looks like the load with the 3.360" OAL is what this old Win Mod 70 30-06 seems to like the best. It measures out to just around a .7" group. I think for a hunting rifle that should just do the trick.

    New To Me 30-06 Loads

Im trying to figure out which is the OAL that would be best to use to make length ladder loads. Would you use the full length measurements using the base to tip or using the Ogive length? The hard part which makes me think I should use the tip length is i know the max Magazine length the the...

    New To Me 30-06 Loads

Well trying to get back at it after a dryer belt breaking and a dishwasher fill valve broke and clean up that mess. My digital calipers decided they no longer want to work with me. New calipers and have now checked that the maximum magazine length is 3.390". I will start loading with 0.010 from...

    New To Me 30-06 Loads

I just checked the OAL of my case with the bullet seating the lands and found that it is 4.410". Backing and starting .020" from the lands will not fit in the magazine at all. I will check the full length capacity of magazine and then have to start from there. I am hoping that this will help...

    New To Me 30-06 Loads

I agree. Almost every time I've done ladder loads for my two 06s and a 308 I get the same type of pattern as well. It's bizarre.

    New To Me 30-06 Loads

I have over my years pushed into compressed loads and pushed the envelope lots. I guess im trying to stay more on the safe side. I used the exact length as some factory Nosler 165grn load length rounds. I will play some shorter and longer to see where I find the tight spot. I even stayed away...

    New To Me 30-06 Loads

I have an older 30-06 Winchester Model 70 and am thinking of a switch to 165grn Nosler Partitions from my usual 180grn Parts. I'm using H4350 powder and CCI primers. This is today's test run. I'm looking at the 55.5grn or the 56.5grn. I think I might be able to tweak a bit around the 56.5grn...

    30-06 O.A.C.L.’s

Hi all I’m loading up some 30-06 rounds to do some ladders tests. I’m using H4350 powder and 165gr Partitions. Just wondering if any out there can respond with what the have used as there O.A.C.L? I was running my 180gr Parts at about 3.334. This is in a Winchester Mod 70 bolt action. Just...

    30-06 Reload Max Length

It is interesting that you write this. Back 30 years ago this exact 06 was a true tack driver shooting 5 shot groups the size of a quarter using IMR4350. I also have my dads 1970 Browning BLR .308 which was exactly the same way way he was loading that .308 with IMR4350. I was told by some...

    30-06 Reload Max Length

Hi All I am in the process of working up some new loads for my older Winchester Model 70 30-06 with the 165gr Nosler Partitions. I have been shooting the 180gr Partitions for 40+ years but am thinking about a change to the 165gr. The powder that I am currently using is H4350. What I am...

    165gr vs 180gr Partition

I guess I did forget to mention that I hunt mostly whitetail and mule deer. I do also hunt elk and moose. Almost all of the areas that I hunt have a relatively high odds of a grizzly bear encounter. This was what has kept me using the 180gr Parts on all of my excursions. I am thinking that the...
