    Die to press alignment

If you have a doubt get one chucked up and put a needle on it. If it’s reamed straight….i guess that would eliminate one thing. I’m sure there is a way to check shell holder vs die thread alignment. It never ends…

Anyone have load recipe for fire forming 264 Win Mag with faster powder?

One way to do this is to seat the bullet jammed a little, .010-.015” or so, with a REDUCED powder charge. Your case belt would still have the stopping duty, but at least you would be certain the cartridge is forced against the bolt face, in that direction.. Drop charge weight 7-8% from a safe...

    Die to press alignment

The last Redding seater I had caused excessive runout. For me anything over .001 is alarming, personally.. I use a an LE Wilson for that cartridge now, no more concerns.

    Die to press alignment

That’s one thing I like about 21st century Mandrels/Dies. They can self align.

    Die to press alignment

Never dealt with this myself, but is there a way to orient the shell holder to allow for self-adjustment of the case as it’s pressed in? If it’s the expander ball and stem, and they aren’t bent, I’d throw the expander away and use a mandrel and mandrel die.

    Nosler 28 Reloading

It didn’t bother me until I saw an impact in the frozen dirt at the feet of a large wild hog standing in a plowed corn field….I haven’t done the math, but that was the end of IMR powders in my cases about 15-20yrs ago. There was adequate distance involved for it to blow the deal, obviously. And...

    .264 130/140 AB

I’m looking for velocity, and the shorter bearing surface of the ABLR would benefit me, there. The added BC of course helps down the line, never a bad thing. At the advice of a very experienced rifleman, I started sorting ABLR’s to the nearest .001” based on BTO length, with both a Short Action...

    .264 130/140 AB

I like velocity in this gun, 140’s are in hand, I’ll try them first. The 110’s at 3400-3420 were awesome in my 25/06AI The 129 or 130 may be next, I assume the 129 has a shorter bearing surface.

    .264 130/140 AB

Does anyone here run these at high speed, as in 3300+? I’m looking for a 0-350yd point and pull the trigger setup, 83gr Sherman Mega case, R23/26 or n570 powder. Whatever it takes, at 28”. Thanks, Phil

Midway had some R23, but ol Larry isn’t in a hurry to get rid of it. Obviously!

    Heavier 257 AB; better BC

These 133/135 Bergers shoot great and soar a while from a 7.5” twist, I’ve run them from 3115-3200+ in a 25SS at 26”, 72gr capacity. I intend to give them a go at some point in the Mega case, 83grs, starting out at 3300-3400. It’s set up for monos right now, great velocity and precision and...

    Talk to me about VihtaVuori

Guys, the n565 powder charges usually run the same as H1000. For comparison. It is temp stable., Usually 50-70fps more velocity than H1000. 568 normally needs a fairly roomy case to hit pressure, for me that’s been around 2grs more than 565/H1000. Also temp stable. 570 will get all there is to...
