That is what I built my 264WM on with a 25" standard rem sporter contour , I wasn't going for the lightest I could build, but it is in the 8# range and could drop 4-5oz just replacing the SS bottom metal with Alum.

I guess my method would be considered spot and stock, but it is mostly taking a longish hike with a rifle and backpack and hoping if/when you "spot" something worth "stalking" that you are not already too far from the truck. Sometimes I get lucky 😁

Gil, I guess it depends on what you want to do with the rifle, you know the 700 has any aftermarket part you would ever need. I've only had 1 xbolt. But the Sako is my favorite, i like the butterly smooth bolt, the trigger, the safety, and flush detachable magazine.

No worries my friend! Its all good. I dont have much of an update on the build, i did put another couple magazines through it yesterday without issue. Took your advice and just broke the edges on the trigger and that seemed to do the trick. Dont feel any more binding. I think one more range...

Dan, is that the same as the salt bath using a lee pot, I've been tempted to try that, but the lead would be much easier to get ahold of vs the salts. I may have to reach out and pick your brain a little.
