Birds are looking good this year, mountain grouse opened the 1st, none that night, but made it out after dinner lastnight and got a limit. 1 dusky and 2 ruffed, i was a happy hunter, got them with the ole Rem 870 28ga.
I could use a photographer tho haha
It was a a bit dull and dirt stained, and some dried dirt clumps inside from the worms in and out. Before painting i used a stiff brush and water to clean it up.
Well i finally got around to finishing my daughter's antelope mount from 2023. No trophy by any means just its her first. The skull has been hanging bare on the garage wall for over 2 years after i pulled it out of the compost pile after spending the winter there. Wasn't sure what i was going to...
No special tags for me, general Deer and Elk here in Montana, daughters are waiting to hear on antelope still should know in a week or so. Try to get out for a few birds.
