    I heard that with the old deepcurls (now gold dots i think) you had to be careful because because they could cause unexpected pressure spikes, also why they came with a powdered lube coating.

    No problem, I've done a few with 1095, but sent them out for the heat treat, I have a stick of D2 that I'll eventually do a couple out of when I get time again. I was making them when I was living/working in California and had left the guns in Montana.
