I would agree with you that for typical North American "big game" would start at pronghorn/deer, an animal that you would typically have a specific tag to "punch" vs. having a license that allows you to harvest a given limit.

Daughter got her buck opening morning, around 200 yd shot with the 25-06 and 110 eldx. The Pic doesn't show it but its a 5x6, the one brow tine is forked.
You would have been a couple miles away, this is just south of town at the base of the mountains, just east of where you went into the canyon. The field they are in is the district that encompasses town and is a pistol/shotgun/bow only area, the road I was on is the dividing line.
