You could also try seating at SAAMI max and if it isn't touching your rifling it might be the place to start. Then if it doesn't shoot from there start getting closer by 3 shot strings. You don't have to load a lot of ammo to do that!
I would seriously consider a 300WSM due to the fact that you have a .338 bore! The extra weight that you save would come in handy. I have a Kimber 8400 and it is a pleasant rifle to shoot and carry. Just my 2 cents worth.
