The H2O case capacity is very similar to my 257 WSM (74.6) but I definitely don't have the advantage of a faster twist and higher BCs. I don't know that I truly need those to hunt but it's fun to consider.

See, it's comments like these that may save me $1000. LOLFotis,
Since you have every caliber, each in a different Mark V variant, maybe now is the opportunity to try a 307. I looked at a few of them when we were in Sheridan in 2024 and they sure were nice!

Just trying to help ya out buddy.See, it's comments like these that may save me $1000. LOL![]()
If I would chose to step into a 25 RPM , I would go the 307 Builder action or find a Mark V donor and save some money.See, it's comments like these that may save me $1000. LOL![]()
I did not participate because I already knew what it was haha. I got wind of it coming in a 307 which put my current purchase on pause. I was looking at 7mm Backcountry in a Weatherby Alpine CT. I'm now considering the same rifle but in this 25 RPM. I heard 3500fps.. I wonder what barrel life it will have and will it's better purpose be more for target or hunting?
The 25 RPM would be a sweet round that's for sure. Good of you to keep it quiet, I'm sure Weatherby appreciates that.I did not participate because I already knew what it was haha. Both mono bullets are extremely sleek so can't be much heavier for each bullet design.I'm a little surprised that they would focus on the lighter bullets, and not make any 120-130 gr class projectiles to take advantage of the 1:7.5 twist barrel potential...interesting.
I would of also anticipated a 121-123 gr LRX vs a 115 gr.
But then again, I am not the ballistician that they (Weatherby, or Barnes) would have on staff...
Perhaps Nosler will make a AB or LRAB in the 120 gr weight range!?!?![]()
Yet they have heavier Hammers in 25 cal already, but aren't using them???Both mono bullets are extremely sleek so can't be much heavier for each bullet design.
This is their brand new design the HBC. Yes they offer heavier options in their other tipped bullets but these new ones are very sleek even compared to those.Yet they have heavier Hammers in 25 cal already, but aren't using them???
