Factory seconds primers?

Has anyone tried these primers? First time I have ever heard of them. The price seems good and with free hazmat shipping. But you know what they say... if it sounds too good,,, you know the rest. Maybe I missed something, it turns out I've missed the mark many times before. The reviews that have been left seem good.

I think for someone doing a lot of plinking with a handgun or AR they may be worth it. I don't think I'll be giving them a try anytime soon.

that's the first I have seen this . as the others have said , it would be ok for bulk ammo to go play with , but I don't think I'd be using them for anything serious . "IF" it were only cosmetic blems , I wouldn't worry about them too much . "IF" it's varying Priming compound amounts , it could be all types of issues . cold weather , velocity ES , quickly come to mind .

I’ve shot a lot of Nosler 2nd bullets and I’m all for that but I think I’ll stick to firsts for primers. It doesn’t seem to me like a great place to try and save money.

There are many places that "saving money" would be in order but for me primers are not the place.

Saw this yesterday. Hadn't heard of them before. Guess I missed the reason, but what makes them seconds? I think I would take the wait and see attitude on these before making a purchase.

Just read the discription says minor cosmetic and non-critical variations.

A couple maybe three years ago when we couldn’t find CCI or any other primers our local gun store got a shipment of CCI large rifle in. I bought a case and recently started using them. Getting a nearly scientific failure rate of 5%. I’ve used 300 of these primers and I have right at 15 cartridges to pull bullets out of. The case and each remaining box in the case have been marked bad primers training only. Otherwise they seem to support the load developement I’ve done reasonably well. When tested from the bench there are some variations in velocity I wouldn’t normally see with loads I’ve been using for years. Come to think of it I had two out of my 257 roberts on Wednesday. The load normally hits right at 3000 fps. Two went 3100. Could have been some other issue but I suspect primers.
So long story short, I agree with the others, plinking only, no hunting or serious load developement and definitely not for duty use.

I only use Nosler seconds for bullets and brass. I’ve never had any problems with them.
I have no interest in trying primer or powder seconds.

Considering that the issue is cosmetic defects, I would experiment with them.

For pistols I think it is fine for practicing but I would not use them for self critical defense rounds or for hunting rounds if you bought rifle primers.

I bought some of those pistol primers from Argentina the Servico? brand and they have misfires occasionally I think it is seating issue as they are tight to seat. I still get them to fire I pull back my hammer on my CZ and second strike always sets them off so they work for practice not self defense always get reliable for self defense. I read the reviews on them and it seemed hammerless pistols had the most problems advantage of the old try and true external manual hammer strikes.

The scrutiny that would come from lawyers and LEO's if you ever had to kill someone would be horrendous. It would not be wise to use any type of "reloads" for personal defense. There's more than one reason LEO's don't and can't use "reloads".
