At my local range today

Thought I would share this with you guys just for something a little different. I am off hunting this weekend and just wanted to make the 300wm was sighted in. 180grain nosler ballic tips were doing very nicely. It was the entry to the range that put a smile on my face.

They reckon there are more kangaroos here in Australia now than before settlement as a result of the increased pastures and greater amount of water.

I have a couple of feral horses to knock over this weekend. Will see if we can find them. They have been running through fences and giving his riding horses hell.

You’d be right. It is one of those meats that seems to be a bit polarising. Some like it, some eat it once and never again. Highly regarded for heart health. Like most game, better on the rarer side than well done.

That is the story of the whitetail deer, they used to be low in numbers but farmland and opening of forest canopies made them explode in population as they are an edge animal. You can walk past a buck sleeping in grass and never know he was there if he does not spook.

Have actually tried kangaroo...closest thing we have would be mule deer...but still, a distinctive flavour, and not bad at all!

Not many rats have a pouch and three babies on the go at once all at different stages of development. It is part of the reason so they are so prolific. Can’t walk backwards either. They are a truly unique mammal.
