Gentlemen, I was in my local GM the other day to purchase some CCI 350 Large Pistol Magnum primers. The sales clerk says "I hope you don't want any rifle primers" I replied "no" and proceded to ask "Why? What's the problem with rifle primers?" He replied back "We haven't been able to get any...

Hows Deer Season Been This Year

Not real well here in western PA...saw a decent 6-8 pt. whitetail that I could have dropped but tried getting my son to get the shot...he wasn't able to. I got a button buck with my .280 and 140 gr. Solid Base at about 30 yards. Spent the last day of PA rifle season without ever seeing a...

    Corrosive Ammo

Although I never had any experience with military 06' brass and bullets, I have found in some of my .223 military brass, some of the brass had 2 flash holes side by side within the primer pocket. I found this out the hard way when de-priming...that brass snaps a decapping right off the expander...

    Remington 7mm-08

lefty...My son shoots a Remington 700 SPS in the 7mm-08. After trying several powders with the Nosler 140 gr. BT, I ended up using 46.5 gr. of IMR 4350 which gave me a chrono'd velocity (avg.) of 2784 fps. and sub 1" groups @100 yards.

I am leaning towards the 7mm-08 as you mentioned and making up some reduced loads with the 85 gr. BT and then if he deals with it ok; work him...

    Traditional?

Pennsylvania has a "muzzleloading season" in mid October in which all forms of muzzleloaders are acceptable for use (flintlocks, percussions, and inlines). Beginning the day after Christmas, PA has a "flintlock ONLY" season which lasts until mid January or so.
