150gr. Nosler PT, R22, and the Mashburn

Well I had to make a couple mods to the Mashburn. First off, with the 20moa base and 30mm scope in low Warne rings cheek weld wasn't the best. On some shots I noticed that the recoil felt sloppy and out of control. That also seamed to be when a random flier would pop up. Some black electrical...

150gr. Nosler PT, R22, and the Mashburn

I have access to some R33 I just haven't picked up any. With the way R22 is pushing the 150's. R33 might be a good bet with the 168 nosler. The guy I picked up my dies from threw in a hundred new pcs so that's what I went with. Just to be safe I picked up another 100 and got lucky. It was...

150gr. Nosler PT, R22, and the Mashburn

I wish I had put one of these together a long time ago also. 3250 with the 150's was very easy. On a side note. The brass for the 162's is on its 5 firing, annealed on the third. Still holding up very well. In going to anneal again and see if I can get 3 more out of them. The brass on the...

150gr. Nosler PT, R22, and the Mashburn

Old reliable ff load. Recoil is about par with my 7-08 but its 3# lighter. Cold bore on the left pretty dam warm barrel on the right. I'm pleased. It was a lot better than going to work early.

150gr. Nosler PT, R22, and the Mashburn

Tha Amax is smoking now. I wasn't pushing it hard enough it seams. 75.8gr. Is where it's at in mine. It's warm though. Just over 3200

150gr. Nosler PT, R22, and the Mashburn

The 150's are good to go. Like I said. I'll try 2.87" in a fouled bore but I'd hunt any of them.

150gr. Nosler PT, R22, and the Mashburn

I would much rather do load work when it's -20 below zero. It doesn't take near as long for the barrel to cool and they're no skeeters. 2.85" opens up a little but still great for a hunting load. I could hunt either of the 3 for the rest of my life and never need more. I'm going to go back and...

150gr. Nosler PT, R22, and the Mashburn

Well I decided to hit the range instead of going to work early. Gotta keep your priorities straight. 70grs. R22 and the 150 was a little warm at 3300 fps so I dropped back to 69gr. Loaded up 3 each at 2.87", 2.86", and 2.85". First up was 2.87" first shot out of a clean bore put me about a...

    Magnetospeed Sporter chrono

I took the MS out again today. Today was going to be a range day for the Mashburn but I hit a storm I strapped the MS to my MR contour 7-08. I ran 1 each of my accuracy loads with 120gr. TTSX, 120gr. BT, 140gr. AB. I have been short changing my 7-08 sense I got it. Accurate but slow. Load work...

    7mm Mashburn Super Magnum

That looks great. I'm going to work with that 150 and R22 load for now. Then I have 2# Retumbo and 300 168gr. Custom Comp seconds to play with.

    Mashburn and Magnetospeed

I'm really interested in the R22 load as well. Everything looked good preasure wise. I'm going to load up 3 at 69.5 and 70grs and see what it will do on paper. If it looks good I'll load 50 and be set for a hunting load. I'll also be seeing if R22 is just as impressive with some 120gr. TTSX.

    Mashburn and Magnetospeed

Virgin brass, FL sizing die. I think the chamber is a little on the tight side. I had to take my shell holdèr down around .01". That could explain the numbers I'm getting with R22 but everything else is the same as everyone else. You have to admit that its a consistant round in a variety of...

    Mashburn and Magnetospeed

I have always been a fan of the 7mm's so I picked up a old 700 in 7 mag last summer for $450 out the door with a Leupold m8 6x36. It shot everything well but nothing great. 1.5" was the norm. Finally a donor that don't shoot lights out. This has been a great build from the start. The lady at...

    Mashburn and Magnetospeed

A little more on the MS. It did change the poi a lot!! 8" high at 100. It actually turned my 100 yard zero to a 500 yard zero. I shot the 3.5" group and never moved the turret. It actually worked out pretty well shooting ladder test at 500. It also moved the poi on my 18" 760 30-08 up about the...

The 7-08 with a Leupold 2-7 with post and duplex took the first and last shot. Both first round hits at 350 with 140gr. Accubond and 42.5grs. Varget. Top of the post is perfect at 7x. 20ga. Browning Silver slug gun put 2 Federal Trophy solids "Barnes tipped" within a inch of each other 1" high...

    Mashburn and Magnetospeed

Well it was a pretty good day at the range. The Magnetospeed is awesome!!! My fire form load with zero load work went 3184, 3174, and 3180 for 3.5" at 500. I ran a ladder with H1000 and 162gr. AMax. 75gr. went 3180, 75.5gr. At 3196, and 76gr. at 3229 with no preasure signs. Almost no vertical...
