Don't worry, it works... I killed two this year with my .25/06 and 110 Grain Accubonds... both were head shots and completely obliterated the skulls...

How technical are you getting? The powder itself only burns in the case... the flame is very large and it does extend out the muzzle... The powder contains all the oxygen it needs to burn in the case and propellant itself...

I'm loading up 56.0 grains of RL19 with a 140 grain Ballistic Tip, R-P brass, Rem 9 1/2 primer. The accuracy was good so stopped there...

Mine is a Ruger, but it shoots the 140 Ballistic Tips very well. You could try the Hornady 100 gr hollow points for varmints but they are very short bullets and may not stabilize. That mountain rifle is pretty light as well and won't stand up to much prairie doggin', but would make an excellent...

The powder burns completely down the bore and out the muzzle several inches.

I'm gonna have about $2500 to play with... Its most likely gonna go in part to a DPMS AR15 with a 20" or 24" bull barrel. Another little bit is gonna go towards an RCBS Turret press, casemate prep station, and maybe a decent scope for the AR...
