    elevated box stands

Looks very good and much like what we use most of the time. Add a plank for elbow rest and a sandbag, and you can shoot very steadily. If you want it less noisy in the rain, use wood for the roof and put the film you use for pools/ponds on it instead.

    Tesla stole my bullets...?

As far as I know there is hardly any Nickel in jackets. Usually 90-95% copper and the rest ist Zinc. Unless you go for the Nickel-plated bullets. Aren't car batteries (for EVs) mostly Lithium? Normal batteries for combustion cars are lead, though

COVID PART II or is it III , IV, or L ?

Praying for you. I still didn't get it, though I use public transport. Seems my blood helps me -0 negative. I didn't loose anyone close, but there were a few tough cases. I know you all like your former president. But he got THAT quite wrong

Favorite bullet mfg not named Nosler and why

For hunting mostly European brands. LOS, Fox. But Lehigh, too. For others Barnes. Target-practice: what flies ok and is available. Currently Prvi, since I have only a 100 m range available. They are good enough for that and for running boar and shooting cinema, they are more than enough...

    Ordered Another Tikka!

I have a Tikka and a Savage. Can't say the Savage is bad. It has that aluminium chassis and shoots way sub moa. Is it pretty? No. It's a tool and does it's job. Same for my Tikka

    Always prepare for the worst

Wherever I go, I pack some pepper spray. We have quite a few wolf's where I hunt and killing them is a no-go. Even in self-defence. So walking the dog or just jogging, I am not completely helpless. Might work on two legged critters, too

    Ordered Another Tikka!

My Tikka never let me down. The barrel is not at it's end yet- but it can see it from where it is now. I will never let that gun go.... Use it for driven hunts mostly now, but I think I could give it another 500;shots. With new seating depth. But it does ok for what I use it for and I have...

    another read on shortages

Thanks for sharing! We have it over here, too. (Germany or Europe in general) I reload my rifle ammo and I am stocked well enough. But skeet-shells? No way. And I bought primers way over what I paid before. And another brand. But otherwise I - or the ones I load for, would have had to put a...

    Home defense shotguns

I am quite sure I won't be able to open the safe in time. But if! I won't grab one of the pistols or revolvers. Or any of the rifles. I would put some buckshot in any of the shotguns. Not 00 in my case. Something around 6 mm. But I am quite sure this would end any discussions

Badgers- How/ where would you hunt one?

I had an Alpha chasing a beta or omega right under my stand. Was fun watching and I didn't raise m rifle. We don't have too many and I don't kill just to kill. Same with foxes. The state Forrest boarding us don't shoot them at all. There, they (the foxes) kill mice that damage roots of young...

Bullet choice for a .308 Win. back-up elk rifle.

I am with the 165 gr AB, too. 180 gr take too much power space in the 308. With monos, I would go even lower and keep distance shorter

Alaskan Brown Bear Almost gets the Hunters

Hard to imagine an Accubond not doing more going through the shoulder, but obviously it happened. Glad they learned a hard lesson and are still able to tell the story.

    E-Tip vs Ballistic Tip

Second that. If you want to have cup and core like results, use something like Lehigh or hammer (?). E tip doesn't loose weight, so it works on a narrower channel, but way deeper. BT's loose around 35% of their weight. That must go somewhere and does more damage on good shots, but they don't...

A Powerful Reminder to All Hunters

Think about him as you may - but Cooper's gun rules are valid. We do some pushes for hare and pheasant here. Whenever you step over a fence or jump something, you break your shotgun. Stay in line with the rest. Keep the muzzle in a safe direction. I once walked behind a guy on the last yards of...
