Well done!!!
I put one together from something I saw on-line a few years back from (I think) one sheet of plywood ... can be assembled for right or left hand shooters.
I did the exact thing your are talking about 2 years ago ... bought the Harbor Freight Runner looking tarp, measured what I wanted & sewed it together using paracord (real paracord) sewn into a hem I made at the top to draw it closed.
I then went a step further and dyed them with Rit dye from...
I've lubed the inside of the case necks since I learned how to reload as teen 40 years ago.
The old way was that thick clear RCBS jelly stuff you rolled onto a sort of ink pad to coat the outside of the case & then use a nylon bore brush to apply some to the inside of the case neck. Now all...
Practicing with any rifle can help you if you have the basics down, even a .22 or dry firing with your 7mm will help.
Maybe bring a knowledgeable friend along who can watch and give you pointers on your prone position, cheek weld, etc .... It's hard to fix what you don't know is wrong.

I would have to agree that the .30 Nosler is my new favorite. For the past 25-30 years my go-to rifle was my 30-06 using my hand loads with 180gr Nosler Ballistic Tips, then the Combined Technology BT in 180gr.
As I got older I grew tired of packing my 18.5 lb rifle with its Shilen match bull...

The scope was zoomed to 14x for this shot.

Just about 82" of drop at 3000 feet
First bullet didn't have that familiar "the-whack" sound when it hit & he just stood there, not even a flinch.
Second bullet...

I do not have first hand experience with that model Leica, but mine feature adjustable eye relief in the form of adjustable eye cups that rotate out for use without glasses, or rotate in for use with glasses.
I always thought that Zeiss was at the top & the best that was to be had. Lots of people love their Swarovski's & at the time I never really thought much about Leica's ... At one point I compared all three top models side by side & wanting the Zeiss real bad, but in the end the Leica's had the...
