Scotty, no doubts on R93 accuracy, at all !
I personally saw it putting 4 bullets into 1 hole (and I mean 1 "normal" bullet hole - no clover) at 100 meters with a heavy barrel in 6 Norma BR.
Two things get me about the R93 :
1) No set trigger....you know...Us European
2) That damn...
I am gathering information on a new rifle which (hopefully) I will be getting towards end of this year and I would really like this rifle to be a modular/take down type.
For my hunting I need my rifle to be dismounted to the minimum necessary, to be packed into my rucksack until I reach the...
Touching then...?
I would like to get an overall length that goes well with powder density inside the case, even though not looking for a load too hot, so the more the bullet's out......the more powder's in.....
I am building up a target load for my 6,5x57R, using Lapua 139 grs. Scenar bullets.
How far do you suggest I keep the bullet off the lands to start ? My barrel twist rate is 1:8"
Thanks
Does any of you Folks have hands-on experience with this scope ?
I like the idea of adjustable turrets not being in the way when hunting (like the M1 would, I guess...) and also having a lateral parallax adjustment knob.
I have a VX-3 3.5-10 x 40 and I am quite happy with it.
Is the VX-7...
JD, what reticle do you have on that scope ?
Do you Guys think a Non Illuminated TMR will "stand out" well enough for hunting purposes in "darker" conditions (dawn & dusk) ?
TY
That's a nice rifle you got there (or should I refer to it as a "cannon" ).
The 6,5-20x50 Mark 4 is also a strong candidate.
As a matter of fact, hunting regulations here in some areas do forbid the use of more than 8x in a hunting rifle and thus I might be tempted to go for the...
I am seriously looking at this scope.
Does any of you have direct experience with this scope ?
Considering its price, I would not want to go wrong.
Personally, I have a 3.5-10x40 VX-III with BC Reticle (another league, I know...) and so far I have no complaints.
Before I start to save the...
I am starting considering the TIKKA rifle to be my next choice.
I have looked at their website and saw there are a few models offered.
I'd go for a polymer stock, but the choice is still too wide to make up my mind and thus I will "pull your jacket"....
Questions :
- Stainless steel or...
Scotty, it might be that in the future I'll have some chances on Red Stags, which I still think the .270 WSM can handle with a 140 AB....
Very good caliber indeed ! ...and in some aspects, I'd prefer it to the .270 (mainly for bullet selection).
Unfortunately, I believe there is no...
I am getting interested in these WSM thing...and I was wondering which one of the two would be a wiser choice.
I hunt Chamois and Roe deer in the mountains up to 7000 feet, thus I think the "punch" factor won't be a problem for either of them.
My concerns are more towards Accuracy at long...
I am starting to get interested in this caliber and I am trying to gather all the information I can.
I have noticed that not many manufacturers chamber this caliber, even though they offer the other WSM (.270 and .300).
Why's that ?
Do you know what brand/model of rifle do offer this caliber in...
Main game would be Roe Deer and Chamois (similar to your mountain goat) and even Stag in a (hopefully) short future.
I hunt in the Alps and I often need to shoot through valleys and there's always some wind drift involved.
I have read this caliber should be quite good in penetrating the...
Hi Folks,
I am thinking of getting a new rifle in this caliber (later on this year) for long range hunting on deer-sized game.
What info can you give me on this ?
Does anyone have practical experience with this caliber ?
Am I making a good choice or there's something better out there ?
I am...
Hi Folks,
I am getting started on reloading this caliber, which will be shot in a break-open single shot Blaser K95 with 26" barrel length.
I have a doubt on powder choice (within Vihtavuori brand).
With the following components :
Nosler BT 140 grs. bullets.....
RWS Cases....
Large rifle...
Hi Gents,
a friend of mine has just bought a SAKO 75 in .300 WSM for hunting Red Stag (European deer) and Chamois (European Mountain goat) and I would like to help him out in finding a good load.
Powder choices : As far as availability, I would prefer a Vihtavuori Powder and...
