    6.5/300 WSM

Thanks JD, I can't wait to get it to the range. I polished the breech/chamber and cut the crown today. I just need to bead blast the bbl, screw it on the action and do a duracoat or similar to match the action and its good to go. I forgot I have a HS Precision aluminum bedding block stock that...

    Aren't we long lost cousins??

    6.5/300 WSM

Those of you that are using a 700 short action, which follower is used for the WSM" I'm only seeing followers at Brownell's for the SAUM? Are they both going to be the same?

    280 AI is done!

Very cool.. I had A 700 years ago in 280 AI and it shot like a laser. Wish I'd never sold it. I just finished up a Win 70 FW in 280 AI with the Shilen bbl. I have to finish inletting the stock then bed it in but I'm really looking forward to shooting it. I have an old Remington 1903 A3 that I...

just something to try, debunking a barrel life myth

I'd think it would stand to reason then that the lower pressure/temps by "X" powder would cause less throat erosion? Throat erosion is basically the #1 enemy of bbl life/accuracy correct?

    10mm Powder

I also use Long Shot in my 45 ACP and 40 S&W. Very nice results with it in all three calibers.

    10mm Powder

They work pretty good for the heavier bullets but not as good as Longshot

    10mm Powder

The problem I've found with 800x and Blue Dot specifically is very inconsistent charges in a progressive press. If you take the time to weigh each charge they work well in the 10mm and 40. I started using long Shot and never looked back. I'm getting better velocities with lower published...

100 grainers in 260rem ...partition or ttsx?

I've never had a TTSX/TSX fail me. I use the 100gr in my 6.5 Grendel AR-15's. Look at the videos on barne's website of them shooting all of the "brand" name bullets into ballistic gel and see how fast the TTSx will open up and penetrate at the same time.

    Barnes TTSX ?

As all above, just seat to your rifle's "sweet spot". I use nothing but TTSx and TSX in all of my big game rifles(sorry Nosler). I've NEVER had an animal go over 2 feet after getting hit. I do have some accubonds for my 338 Federal though..Great bullet.

just something to try, debunking a barrel life myth

I've been using H-380 in my 220 Swift for hundreds of rounds and it still shoots like the day I first sighted it in.

    7 mm Express (280 Remington)

I really love the 280. The only thing better IMHO is the 280 AI for this class of cartridges. I've had one in my Win 70 Featherweight for over 20 years and just re-barrelled it to 280 AI. I'd like to have a Browning BLR take-down rifle in 280..

    6.5/300 WSM

Thanks to all of you. There are a lot of loads there Dr Mike, big thanks. I've been using Ramshot powders(X-terminator and TAC) lately in my 6.5 Grendels, 6x45 and 223(all AR-15 platforms) and 308(M1A) with very good results. I'll get some Magnum to try and Retumbo also. I've got an AR in 243...

    6.5/300 WSM

I've got an 8 twist so it should take anything I want to feed thru it. I could only get a set of Lee dies 2 weeks ago and my 300 WSM brass just crumples under them. I found some RCBS in stock so they should be here next week along with some 270 WSM brass. I took my Win 70 Featherweight and...

    6.5/300 WSM

Thanks much Scotty. I just finished chambering the bbl yesterday so I still have to polish the chamber and cut the crown. I just ran out of time yesterday. It's in a 26" Lothar Walther stainless bbl on a blueprinted Rem 700 SAM receiver. Bullet wise depends. I'm guessing 130-140gr. I like RL22...

    6.5/300 WSM

I'm just finishing up a 6.5/300 WSM and wondered if anyone had any tips for sizing WSM brass for this and any reloading data they might have used. Thanks
