260 rem is designed to shoot lighter bullets. 100 - 140.
I have 6.5x55 1:8 twist and i shoots 140 very very well but does not as much 100 grainers.
I talked to Bartlein Barrels and they recommended 1:9 twist if I don't plan to shoot heavier bullets than 140 gr. Lapua makes brass for it right...
John from service called me today and the rifle is going back to the shop for the second time.
Guy, the rifle has special cerakote finish for extra weather protection and I would like to have it this way. This is one of the reasons I bought this rifle.
It looks like I have bad luck or Nosler...
The rifle came in last Thursday. It took over one month to get it back. The feeding is much better, but the gap on the stock the same. According to Nosler it is normal??
Next John from service told me that they will refinish the rifle after repairs are done and..... the feeding ramp is...
For my tests R-17 was good for 130 gr bullets.
But H4831 sc is my choice 60.5 gr for 130 AB ( they look nicer than partitions ) and CCI BR 2 primers. Very stable load with 22 tube. 130 partition is shorter than AB it should take more pressure
than AB I think.

I agree about CCI BR2 primers. My load is 60.5 gr of H4831 sc with 130 AB and it shoots unde 1 inch. H4831 sc ( short cut ) should give you some 20+ fps more, if you like it.
No RL-22 with my 130 gr bullets. RL-22 works best for me with 150 gr bullets
Wlodek
Shawn, I hope you guys can solve it. They are shipping me a box and a label for the rifle.
But...... the gap on the stock it is normal? This is what I was told, because it makes the bolt to operate better????? Can they just make the stock to fit the action?
I never seen any rifle I have owned...
This is my second Custom 48 and the first one is perfect. It should be perfect. And if I can load that..... it is a problem. This is NOT quality. It means they are not consistent. What about quality control. I am angry, because I invested my time to shoot, brake the barrel, scope mount...
This shoot and feels great but the feeding from magazine is very rough.
With two rounds in the magazine it is average, with three it gets harder, with four I almost needs to force the round into the chamber.
Also the stock fit what I just found it to the action is poor. Under the bolt there is...
I have got mine today!!! 280 AI light barrel. God, the balance and finish is great.
Trigger set at 3 lb. I installed my 2-12x50 scope and I am ready to break in the barrel tomorrow.
Hunter's rifle. Simple and balanced.
Good job Nosler again.
Until I have found feeding problem next day...
I would try H4831 sc, ( short cut ) with 60 gr,or 60.5 gr ( it shoots better in my rifle ) federal large rifle match primer or CCI BR2 large rifle.
My OAL is 3.285. it shoots about 1/2 to 3/4 inch at 100 yards.
Another powder is RL-17 for velocity.
I use H4851 sc ( short cut ) 60.5 gr. with 130 AB and they shoot well. Primer GM210, OAL.3.285
Velocity is about 3050 fps average with 22.5 tube. New load for me and shoots even better then the old one. It take time to get it done right.
I should get my 280AI this week!!!! and I need your help to get nice loads for 140AB, 160 AB and 150 BT. Any loads with RL-22? N560? H1000?
Thank you, Wlodek
Ok, I did a test with N560 powder and 140AB and the results are good.
140 AB, N560 59.5 gr and GM215 primer, Norma case. The velocity was all four shots on average 2980 FPS. Very impressive velocity. Accuracy 1.25 inch. Not bad. The temp was about 43F but windy. My next try will be 59 gr load...
280 AI will not kick your teeth out, but to take full advantage of this cartridge you need to reload.
Nosler sell brass. Bullets selections are from 120 and up to 180gr.

H4350 will shoot better with 130 gr bullets but to slow in my case.
H4831 sc is more universal. 130 gr, 60 gr H4831sc and CCI BR2 it is good choice.
150 gr BT 58gr H4831 with WLR primer. RL-22 58gr with WLR primers for 150gr BT is my best choice.
All loads YOU NEED to work up based on you...
