Not often I say Retumbo until heavy bullets are the discussion but in the 25-06.......Retumbo!

    Tighten Primer Pockets??

To be clear ALL my loads are at reasonable pressure levels and was only asking for opinions because we all have brass that could be loaded a couple more time if primers were tight enough. All the above pressure info above is spot on and completely understand it and agree with the methods, as...

    Published data and powder fit.

Hadn't really thought about brass differences having that much effect, I understand, just hadn't thought about it.

    Published data and powder fit.

I agree with pressure data, what I see as being "off" across the board is case fill %. I see loads that are marked as compressed * but still have shake space, and loads that should be 97% or so and crunch them to seat bullet at published OAL length. I just live by my chrono now and load to...

    Another .243 on the way...

I have found that in the 80-85 grain bullet weights just shoot all the IMR4831, RL19 or Superformance, oh well or Hunter you can get in the case and not "crunch" it seating bullet. The .243 is a pressure hog. If you here it "shake" put powder in it. LOL If you go the 4350 way 42 grains is gonna...

    Tighten Primer Pockets??

WHUT? Not talking just AR's here, you bought brass for 280 AI or 7STW lately? Won't take long to pay for bolt with these brass.....when you can get them! OR better yet get you some 28 Nosler brass. Talking about safe easy method to get 1-2 more loadings!!

    Published data and powder fit.

Yep, interested in these answers as well. Way too much "predicted" info from the loading manuals these days. I load rounds every day that either QL or powder maker say is "compressed" but still have space left, in exactly prescribed loads. Market has caused tolerances to be all over the place...

    Tighten Primer Pockets??

Still agree completely. Just asking for opinions because the days of cheap abundant brass are over with. But can 1-2 more loading's might be had. A lot of factory loadings will exhibit just what ammosmith video show as over pressure, as well as most Nosler factory loadings. Just got done...

    Tighten Primer Pockets??

OK. Agree with all the above,,,,,,but IF NO gas escape then bolt face WON'T look like pics posted above....,, RIGHT. No gas bypass no cutting right. Can tell you that if primer pockets are loose at say .2105 or bigger it will get you another loading on brass. Have tested and will work. I...

    Tighten Primer Pockets??

Opinions, thoughts?? Saw this over on Longrangehunting.com Seems several of the guys there are using this redneck method of tightening primer pockets successfully. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19XmgETCWOE Thread is here: http://www.longrangehunting.com/forums/ ... ow-152361/

Have a Savage model 11 youth with 20" barrel that shoots very well. 85gr TSX 44.5 grains IMR4831 Fed 210 Primer OAL 2.645 Magneto Speed checked Sunday morning at 50 degrees and went like this, waiting 15 minutes between shots to get cold barrel readings. 3,233fps 3,228fps 3,234fps Barnes...

switching from H4831sc to reg H4831

Not any more so than switching lot #'s on any powder. They have exact same burn rate but will change % of case fill at same charge weight. i.e 80gr of H4831 = 5.800 CC's volume 80gr of H4831sc = 5.708 CC's volume. So IF you shooting at case fill with the short cut you may have to compress (or...

    Reloader 25 in .25-06 Remington

I have found Retumbo to be THE powder for the 25-06 at up to 60.5gr. However RL 25 comes close also. With 110 up to 120 grain bullets with RL 25 load range should be RL-25 From 44.8 grains to 58.9 grains. Wide range here because can be used with either bullet. i.e. 110gr bullets starting load...

Load data for 338 Norma Mag.

http://www.norma.cc/us/Ammunition-Acade ... ma-Magnum/ http://www.lapua.com/upload/reloading/r ... rt2011.pdf As the Lapua burn rate indicates in this case capacity range I have found the 4350's burn rate very similar to Norma URP. Norma gives a load with URP for the 250 grain class bullets...

    243 is done!!

Shot this group this evening with 44.5 grain IMR4831 under 85gr Barnes TSX at 3,125fps in 20" barrel factory savage gun. Temp was 69 degrees. Loaded in Nosler Brass. This was at 200yds. OAL is 2.645 per Barnes. This load is awesome. Top 2 were on 4th firing brass and lower was on unfired brass...

    QL Request 280AI MRP 140AB's

Will do, on the careful part. Will run 62grains across magento speed in the morning with 215GM instead of 210 primer first and get us a speed to see just what the long barrel has to offer. Thanks guys, will post soon as I know.

    QL Request 280AI MRP 140AB's

Having tested both 4831's and RL 26 and still not as accurate as I would like I am thinking on MRP as I have 2lbs of it sitting here. Could someone run QL on this for me? Thank YOU Any help on speed to look for would help, thought on using RL 22 data but see a slight difference in VMD and speed...

    270 WSM with 150 NAB L/R help

Yep, found this combo to be just what RL 26 was designed to help. It is denser to get more weight charge in the same space. I had good results with it at 66 up to 67.5 grains and used Noslers OAL at 2.850. Would be worth trying if you can put your hands on powder. Should reach/break 3,000fps in...
