Will be mounting my Leupold VX-IIIL tomorrow!!!
My Gre-Tan is the same way. It's just tighter tolerances and a stiffer spring. I can no longer lift the bolt with just my index finger, but that's ok. It will losen up some with use, but I don't think it will get back to the factory feeling.[
If thats the case, Im not sure itll be worth it...
I replaced my standard Rem 700 firing pin assembly with a PTG replacement firing pin assembly from Midway USA tonight. I got it into the bolt body but cycling the bolt is extremely tight and difficult. It seems to fire okay. Is this normal for a new firing pin to make it so difficult? Does the...
thanks for the help....its an X-mark pro since it has the screw in the trigger.
I put in a call to the guy locally that is going to do my stock work to see if he can handle this work. Its the little things!!!!
How do i know if I have a X-mark vs X-mark Pro, the trigger is definitely adjustable, but I threw away all the marketing stuff when I got the rifle? Any other clues?
Well, I like the all copper expansion in the forend, while keeping the lead weight in the back. I have been messing with the e-tips, but can be a little finicky. I will continue with my Accubonds as they haven't failed me yet, but was looking for something that doesn't shed mass as it penetrates
I believe the trigger is an X-Mark (bought the donor rifle last November?)
He said that he couldnt mill/modify the action due to liability reason. I have a different gunsmith bedding the action I will see if he can perform the install.

I ran into an interesting problem when assembling my "custom" rifle.
The gunsmith assembling my rifle said he was unable to install the Timney trigger because the "slot" the trigger fits into in the Rem 700 action supposedly tapers from back to front (.35 to .27) and the Timney desogn to fit...
Great News!!! Just got off the phone and they're shipping my new barrel/action today. I hope to get it on Wednesday or Thursday!
Interesting to me though he couldn't replace my trigger with an aftermarket Timney...in talking with the smith he said the remington 700 action trigger "slot" was...
I absolutely love these bullets as i think they about as close to the perfect bullet, but at $50 box ouch! Anyone have any inside information if they will be selling them as a component for reloading? Its been 6 yrs now come on Winchester!
