I absolutely love these bullets as i think they about as close to the perfect bullet, but at $50 box ouch! Anyone have any inside information if they will be selling them as a component for reloading? Its been 6 yrs now come on Winchester!

Interestingly enough, I've never been able to get any of these cartridges to shoot well in the rifles I shoot, and I have shot quite a selection of cartridges during the time they have been available. I would certainly try them in my own hand loads if they were available as a component.

So far, they have not been released as components for hand loaders.

Any idea if they are/will be?

Don't hold your breath. As a matter of fact don't even think they will become available soon. Maybe ever.

Winchester will keep these in loaded ammo form because it forces people (like yourself) to buy the Winchester loaded ammo.
Just as they will not sell nickel plated brass and some of the other bullets they have...( bonded max? and some others)

The moment they do sell the xp3 I will be one of the first in line to try these out in 30 cal. That BC on a 30 cal 180- just can't be ignored and combine that with the photo performance of it....they are enticing.

Truly unfortunate...the only components Winchester will offer is there "older" technology? They would get alot more business/customers from components, as the people that dont reload will still have to buy their loaded ammunition.

So... What do you want to do with those Winchesters that can't be done with a Nosler of some type?

Partition. AccuBond. E-Tip. Ballistic Tip... Bases are pretty well covered there for hunting bullets!

Well, I like the all copper expansion in the forend, while keeping the lead weight in the back. I have been messing with the e-tips, but can be a little finicky. I will continue with my Accubonds as they haven't failed me yet, but was looking for something that doesn't shed mass as it penetrates

Same results here, they wouldn't group well at all!

This is the ONLY factory load my gun doesn't like. I've been a failsafe fan for years and hit ragged groups at worst with those but the XP3 has never grouped decently for me.

+1...might work, but don't like them as well..

The XP3 was supposed to correct the problem of the FS being too complex. My assessment of their capabilities does not excite me. Perhaps they will perform well on game, but I can't imagine they will kill any deader than do AccuBonds, Partitions and/or E-Tips.
