In attempts to squeeze every last little bit of accuracy out of my rifle I am "building" I was looking into replacing the firing pin assembly on my Remington 700 with one of these after market products:

I have to rework my loads anyway, as I should be receiving my new rifle back from the smith anyday now so switching bullets at this stage isnt an issue cause i'd have to do it anyway.

I think if you feel comfortable with inletting a little and other work, putting pillars in is a snap. It is a really easy process. Really its a pretty easy job. A little bit of filing and drilling. Glass them in. Check out Stockys for some great instructions. If you need a link, let me...
Thanks for the kind comments. Its bastogne walnut, monte carlo style, with rosewood forend/grip cap with maple spacers.
The stock was made by jerry jimerson out of CA, highly recommend him if interested in a great stock for the price and a couple hours of inletting work.

I did some preliminary sanding, and had to do some inletting for my Rem 700 w/ DBM. Looking good so far, just have to wait for my action/barrel to be returned so i can put the final touches on the inletting then...
I just cant bring myself to buy one of these rifles, no matter how good the trigger is and how well they shoot because they have there name and that indian on the bolt just staring at you....just a horrible eyesore. IMHO.
Anyone have luck buyinf replacement bolt shrouds?

I am decided to go with a different stock...The AI stock was going to be cost prohibitive. I have ordered a solid walnut stock with the aluminum bedding block in it from stockystocks, and this should srrive this week.
