I have the Redfield 2-7 standard reticle a 06 carbine and so far really like the scope.But you can't go wrong with a Leupold either.

I tried Re17 in my 300wsm and did get to 64.5gr before I got flattened primers and stiff bolt lift. Also I did not see alot than 50fps increase over my current load of imr 4350.

I'm in the 300wsm camp, but will say when it comes to elk to shoot the biggest gun you can from a variety of positions and still pack all day long even out of some real nasty holes.

Congrats on the elk. I know of several people that shoot 300 winnies and weatherbys that use the 180 NBT and will not change because of the performance they gotten out of them.

I have a Remington 700 sps ss in 300wsm that am looking to restock with possible a B&c medalist along with a wyatts extended box magazine. Was wondering if the alumiun bedding block is any good and has anyone any experience with the wyatts box?

Thanks for all the replies. I have tried Re19, Re17, and Imr 4831 but Imr 4350 gave me the best accuracy. Re17 did shoot pretty good but the load that shot the best was flattening primers a little. Guess I'll have to chrono my load in the cold to see how it holds up against summer temperatures...
