After breakin, test some 150 BT couple hundred rounds, settled on 180 ab with 62 grains of H4350, started with 59 gr of N550, tried 165 AB with IMR4350 about 50 rounds, I'M sorry all this is a .300wsm, never shot over 30 rounds without a good cleaning. I have to say I might be around 600 to 800...
How many rounds will a M-48 take before the barrell wears out, I was at the range the other day and some guy said around 2000. I would think it would be at least double that if not more if you take good care of the barrell, ie never get it hot and always good cleaning.
Just received an e-mail they are Red Hawk Rifles, out of Cedaredge, Co. they are a remington 700 clone with one of frozen barrells ( can't remember what they call the process. I will go ba ck on gunbroker and see if I can find them, i noticed them today. Thanks
Looking on gunbroker and have seen these guns before, does anyone have an opinion. The Item # are 21842355 and 218142548. These rifles are remington clones, they look good to me and sounds like a good rifle.
Quick question, with new brass (winchester) do you need to resize the brass before loading or just start loading. I am gonna try to workl up a load using 165 AB with IMR 4350 for a .300WSM. I have some remington brass already primed, sized, so I will use those to work my loads for testing, they...
Thinking about loading 165 grain accubond in a .300wsm, I have the nosler book #6th addition, and have been thinking about using IMR 4350. I am using H4350 for 180 grain and getting good results. Any suggestions on another powder or the two above and what range of grains to start with. Thanks
Bought another pound of H-4350, I probably have about 200 grains plus or minus of same powder from a previous purchase. Is there a problem with adding the small amount to the new pound or is it best just throw the old away and start loading with the new so all loadings will be the same powder.
This may be a dumb question but I have to know. I am ready to do some more reloading, this is my 2nd round with win. brass. I full sized them and put the calipers on and all were from 2.090 to 2.095, case length is 2.100 ( all for a .300WSM), do you need to trim if under 2.100?
The turretts work fine, they are probably more accurate than I am, they are on paper out to 600 yds, I was only accurate to around three, which I think separate the men from the boys. It just take a lot of range time, but I feel comfortable to 400 yds.
The information from the manufacturer says 2874 best I remember, I sure it will be different and I have another 15 or so rounds loaded to chorno and do a double check on accuracy. I feel that the H4350 shoots better than the VHIT. N-550.
Mostly whitetail here in Oklahoma and Kansas, I wanted a load heavy enough in case I go elk hunting, but have not been in a while. Also wanted a good bullit to travel a long way as we hunt the prairie's and it is mostly spot and stalk. Like I said in my previous post I am gonna try the 165 or...
Finally able to get to the range without the howling wind that we have had here in OK. These are from my final test loads. Looks like 62 grain is the winner, 60.8 comming in at second. I have not chronoed yet, I loaded some more of the 62 which is what I will probably stick with. Seemed like...
I started with 60.0 grns of H-4350, win. brass, WRLM primers, 180 grn NAB, I increased the load by 2/10 up to 61.2, (this is my first round) I still might try from 61.2 to 64 which is max. The book says 60 grn will be about 2799 FPS, 64 grn will be 2950 FPS, I divided that to where I figured...
