No animal on earth can tell the difference between 2800 fps and 3000 fps. If you need the velocity for longer range shooting get a .300 mag. Could think of worse things than buying a new rifle.
I was just given a sack of 6mm 85 grain BTSP's I checked all of my manuals and it looks they are Speer's. Have any of the other companys made a bullet like that in the past and discontinued them?
