I am so glad for both of you, the crew on this site are just a real good group of people (y).
Man I have never seen a Whelen that doesn't shoot lights out .
Blessings,
Dan
I am sorry that I am coming in late :(. Congratulations Noah and to Pa as well (y)!!
I have had the pleasure of hunting with both of these gents and it has always been a hoot .
Mike I could not see those photos of Noah's buck so if you could post them I would really appreciate it...
Unfortunately if you have hunted for any length of time you have a story of a miscue.
Mine was about 15 years ago when I had a very large Whitetail playing cat and mouse with me. I have a pretty good eye on measuring up buck and this guy was at least 180" and stuck his head out of the bush at...
Congratulations Scotty on a excellent hunt (y). Thanks you for the story and the photos as well . You will have some fine meals this winter from that Elk.
Blessings,
Dan
I have been loading 160gr ABs for a number of years for my Nephew's CDL in the 7MM mag and have had great accuracy and speeds touch 3000fps using IMR4350.
I have never personally used H1000 but have a number of hunting buddies use it and stated they will never change. They are shooting 160gr...
Wow, I have missed a couple of exciting adventures .
Congratulations Dr.Mike I have seen your shooting abilities and know that you would not take the shot unless you were confident (y).
It kinda sad though that you do not have any photos :( but thank you for the great story.
By chance did...
SC that is some beautiful but rugged country (y). Thank you for the photos and tour, I pray that your brother will be healed in no time.

Gerry that 225gr. did everything you asked of it (y). I have a young friend that believe the 225gr. in the GK is the best there is and has ever been. He advised that Sierra has stated that they made the 225gr. specifically for the Whelen, I am not sure if that is true or not but I know that he...
Gerry that is excellent bullet performance (y).
If it ain't broke don't fix it , RL15 did everything that needed to be done.
Gerry what was your powder charge?
Blessings,
Dan
In my younger years the only 2 shotguns you ever heard about was the 870 or the model 12 both were work horses.
I have a friend that has a 870 that is about 20 years old and his other 2 are from the early 50s and they still get the job done ..
Blessings,
Dan
That is some outstanding speed with a 250gr. bullet.
I am using RL15 & 225gr. ABs out of my 35 Whelen and thought I was doing well at just over 2800fps.
Thanks for the post (y).
Blessings,
Dan
