Good Luck to all this season!

My daughter got her Alabama hog this morning...he came cruising by and it seemed like forever before he presented a broadside shot at about 75 yards. She sent the 140 Partition from her 7-08. The pig slapped the ground and gave a little twitch and it was over. The Partition punched through both shoulders and exited. This oinker won’t be rooting up anymore of the land owners peanuts..
Me and her Uncle couldn’t be more proud of Haley.

nice job . how big is that hog ?
Don’t have scale and it looks bigger thanks to the angle of the pic, but when we loaded him on the UTV we guessed about 250-275

Congratulations to your daughter on a dandy hog!

Congratulations on a fine porker. Your daughter did a fine job, picking a great animal to invite to dinner.

Thanks guys..We were a little off..The skinner said he was 282 pounds, and what we thought was an exit wound was a battle wound from another hog and he recovered the Partition resting against the hide in the off side shoulder..I'd say given what it went through, that's ideal bullet performance. Expanded to .662 and 66% weight retention.

Yes it did. That hog had a thick gristle plate and a lot of fat for a wild hog and the bullet held up well. and it didn't go any further than its shadow...Haley said she's gonna call it "cankles"  And folks have quite making fun of her pink Boyd's stock on her Win

I'd suspect that the pink Boyd was what made the difference! That was a great find to recover the bullet. It definitely did the job.

Congratulations! It appears the mentor, the shooter, the rifle, and the bullet all did their job respective jobs. Dan

Today the big brown truck brought the skull from her hog..Now just to find a plaque to put it on. I'm thinking one of these..They say the ones with the pedestal are what you want for a boar skull with lower jaw. His "cutters" are right at 3.5"

A Euro skull mount is ideal to display that hog. He has an impressive set of cutters.

That and I’ve seen a lot of “hide on” hog mounts, and the hog looks entirely too happy; for instance, Haley found this guy at the taxidermist.
