I don't regret the amounts I have spent on my two custom rifles but they were very expensive. If I would have know then what I know today I would have invested in a couple top end factory rifles and took a couple of more hunting trips .
I have trouble selling my rifles as they carry many...
Congrats Gerry  I am looking forward to your load development with photos  for that 7mm mag. I have loaded for that calibre for many years and have always had great success with accuracy and terminal performance using the 160gr. AB. I use IMR 4350 and RL22, both powders are right...
Gerry, I have the Leica 2000 and it has been real good to me but as you know when we were at Mike's my previous Leica calved on me. Leica was gracious enough to replace it with one model up .
I have 2 hunting Buddies that bought the Sig and they are extremely happy with them (y).
Enjoy...
I have taken a number of Elk with my Model 700 CDL in 270win it had a Leuy VX-7 on top and using a 130gr. Partition bullet or a 130gr AB.
I have taken one with my Custom RMR in 280AI with a VX-6 on top, using 150gr ABLR over top of RL22 at just over 3250fps. This Elk was just under 300 yards...
Good luck to all that are going to be bear hunting this fall. Here in Saskatchewan fall bear taste much better than spring bear as in the fall they have eaten berries and then gorge themselves on Oates.
I may pick up a Bear tag with my Elk tag as more than once we have seen them in the oat...
Good morning, it seems every time I am about to downsize I get side tracked . My grandson who was really into elite soccer and his older sister who was in at least five different dance routines have decided to change hobbies (y) .
My Grandson has really started to take a interest into...
It is tough to beat the 308win but as Dr.Mike stated it so much fun picking something different. My motto is so many calibers and way too little time :(.
What ever you decide it will be just right for your hunting partner (y).
Please keep us informed.
Blessings,
Dan
Gerry it looks like you had a great time, the young fellow looked to be very happy with his trophy it is sure rewarding to harvest a animal with something you made yourself !
I saw in that one photo that even the young guys take the occasionally nap  it remains of a Doctor we know and...
Congrats Gerry that is a fine young boar and I am sure it will be tasty. I hope to hear that you made some bear brats . I know I am little to the table but I hope to spend a little more time on the site again.
I hope that everyone is doing well (y).
Blessings,
Dan
Guy as usual your photo is beautiful and I want to thank you for posting it.
Here in Southern Saskatchewan we do not get to see the Bald Eagle very often .
Blessings,
Dan
Mike, please remember the 3 fine fellows that have tried to teach you the proper way to shoot a rifle. We have all had trouble trying to get you to understand that being left handed is a gift  !!
Anyways I am going to give you a call in the next while to catch up.
Blessing my Friend

I have owned a couple of Browning Medallions bolts actions in the past and found them to be a fine rifle. The last one was in the 375 Hurt & Hurt . It was likely the best all around calibre that I have ever owned, I shot every big animal available to hunt here in Saskatchewan and that is...
