Unfortunately, the concept of customer service is lost on today's younger generation and company policies! A sad and frustrating state of affairs and comment on values, ethics and morality practiced today:cry:
I forgot to discuss the 41 Rem Mag above.
This is more performance than the 10mm, but in a revolver, obviously less capacity. (6 vs 8 to 16 in a 10mm pistol)
And a 240 gr bullet in a 41 Rem Mag will out penetrate a 240 gr bullet in a 44 Rem Mag, with less recoil. I really like the Winchester...
While there are others on here with more experience than I when it comes to packing hand cannons for bear protection in Alaska, and can provide more insight...
From what I have been reading is that the 10mm is gaining in popularity for this purpose all the time. Hard to beat the rugged...
Interesting question...not sure myself as I never discussed this with Nosler or anyone else when talking to their technicians.
The initial firing will definitely get different velocities than subsequent loads when only neck sizing , as that firstt firing is going to expand the brass to your...
Well I found another unicorn!
The Steyr Model M Full stocked rifle in 6.5x55...in Left Hand...with really pretty wood! Have made the deal and it will shipped shortly! And the rings are QD. It doesn't come with the scope pictured, but I have Kahles 3-9x42 TDS that will be mounted on it when it...
Love the 338-06.
Found mine easy to work with too, took no effort to get 2750 fps with the 215 gr SGK and 1/2" groups!
I too like the laminated stocks...here's a pic of mine
Anyone try AR Comp in their 338 Federal with 200 gr AccuBonds? (or Trophy Bonded Tips?)
The tech at the Federal Custom Shop said this was a great powder for them with the 200 gr Trophy Bonded Tip bullets and recommended trying it with the AccuBonds. Best results when velocity is at 2650 fps...
But Remington named it the 260 Rem. Not sure if Winchester wouldn't have followed the same path that Remington did in 1997. And when they did new cartridges they went with 243 and 25 cals, in the WSSM, as that was the hot new trend in 2003.
Dave Emary at Hornady just took it to the next level...
And of these quarter bores, which cartridge do you prefer (if you had to have just one), and why? (Velocity, accuracy, efficiency, etc.)
If you can, throw in the 257 Bob too...
And which bullet or bullets did you prefer in these cartridges? (brand, model, weight, performance - incl/ on game)...
Because anyone can buy a Savage Axis or Rem 783 in 223 or an SKS in 7.62x39...and you just aren't anyone!
You prefer a classic rifle with history and a connection that you relate to.
Disappointing to hear about Nosler's poor representation at the SHOT Show.
All I can say is that the AccuBond is still my favourite hunting bullet, and I am still a fan of the Ballistic Tip and Partition, and am thankful that I have a good supply on hand to meet my needs for the foreseeable...
The 375 Win did come in AE if I recall correctly...so you do need to get the triple threat! Then you would have triplets!
I did have all 3 at one time! Was fun!
(also had the 356 and 375 in Marlin)
Downsized some of my lever actions as I am building the fund for the father/daughter archery...
There are a lot of cartridges out there that shoot their bullets at 2700 fps, that have earned great reputations for cleanly taking a wide variety of game over the past century (and longer). Just something that works with this velocity!
While the 120 is plenty for blacktails, I would tend to go...
Go to use mine for a couple of range sessions this past weekend...
What a simple item to use!
May be the best investment I have made for the shooting I do in a long time (and that takes some saying as I have made some great investments in rifles, scopes and hunting in the past few years! At...
