    RL 26 Discontinued?????

Don’t overlook the Viht powders these days. Very available and man from the few I’ve used, they shoot like crazy.

    It's the economy!

I’ll cut whatever a customer wants Don. Mostly it’s a lot of White Pine, Hemlock, Black Locust. I’ve sawn a fair amount of oak, hard and soft maple, butternut, black walnut, cherry and maybe some stuff I’m forgetting about.

    It's the economy!

I see it some around here as well Dan. I bought a sawmill back in July and it’s been fairly steady but not really busy. For me it’s been a bit of good luck since I have been trying to shape up the old mill yard and get stuff organized. I’m waiting on some building plans to put a roof over the...

    Teddy Roosevelt on Hunting

For sure Joe. I always joke that he’s likely the last great governor of NY! He was my favorite president as far back as I remember. Neat fella for sure.

    Savage 30-30

And a 170 grain bullet should be on your list as well ET. All of the powders mentioned work great, I use alot of the Leverevolution in my 30-30/35 Rem loads, but all of those will work great. Give the barrel a good scrubbing if it hasn't had it, and maybe swap projectiles. Something will...

    A Great Deal of Satisfaction

    A Great Deal of Satisfaction

Whoooooaaaa Dan! We must’ve been on the elk run today! I had a nice day today so I decided to check my two chosen for this year at 400 as well. The 300 is my bad weather gun. Then my old Lenard Brownell 7 Rem. I brought them home, wiped them down and put them in the case for a...

    300WM and barrel length

I’d chop it in a heart beat myself. Even at 22” you’ll still get a 200 grain bullet up to 2800 or so with the right powders and a long heavy barrel isn’t any good if you don’t like it. A 24” barrel is about as long as I want most of the time anyhow. I have a couple that’ll remain 25 and 26” just...

    Tough, Rugged Bastards

Don, that’s amazing. I’m sorry for your sisters loss, but man was he a warrior. Awesome pics. Again I’m sorry for the loss but it sounds like he went like a good Ranger.

    270 win NBT 130 request

It just got better and better as I crept up in charge weight. I believe a little seating depth adjustment will bring them together. Speeds good as well

Favorite powders for 120 PT in 25-06?

Rl22 used to be one of my favorites, RL25 would work, as would 7828, 4831, Retumbo, H1000 or RL26/23. I’ve tried them all at one time or another. I like slow stuff in the 25-06 myself especially with 120’s. What do you have available to you Dan?

    270 win NBT 130 request

For sure. I’ll take a rifle that’ll do 5 shots MOA vs another load that’ll do 3 in a 1/4” once in awhile. For my hunting a 5 shot MOA gun will do all I need. Love seeing smaller groups but I know some of that is luck.

    Data Discrepancy 7PRC

I think a guy would drive himself crazy without a chronograph. Look at the variance with a 270 Win and 130 and H4831 for instance. Some max at 58 while some max out at 62. I think it’s literally a guide and you know what’s safe in your batch of components and rifle. Good to see you around...
