    Thank You All !

Now that you mention it I've been on this forum for 17 years, can't believe it's been that long. Because of being here I've been able to meet @sask boy, @Blkram , @DrMike and @Guy Miner in person which is really neat. Hope to meet a few more of you in person sometime.

    6.5 Calibers

It's actually almost identical to the 264 WM in case capacity. The case is a bit skinnier but is longer and has a 35 degree shoulder.

    6.5 Calibers

I haven't got one but the 6.5 RPM makes a lot of sense. A bit more power than a 6.5 PRC but much better barrel life than the big 6.5/300. Petersen makes the brass so it's good stuff, buy enough to last the life of the barrel and you'll be set. Out of all the Weatherby cartridges that one makes...

    Grey Tipped Ballistic Tips

Time will tell but he apparently talked to Winchester personally and that's what they said. Some guys have used some recently manufactured 170 gr Ballistic Silver Tip 6.8 Western factory loads that came with no coating.

    Grey Tipped Ballistic Tips

According to a guy at the 6.8 Western Facebook group Winchester isn't going to coat the BST anymore with the black coating. Looks like they just might have the gray tip from now on.

Been away for a bit...what's new?

I was wondering where you were, glad you're back. Good news that your wife is doing well.

Oh and welcome to the forum, you have good taste in bullets and cartridges. The 6.8 Western is a great round!

    6.8 western 170 gr BTs

Looking at the data you must be looking at H 4831 sc which has a starting load of 52.7 gr. I haven't tried that powder yet but did work up with Magpro and Retumbo and the 170 gr Ballistic tip and ended up a couple grains less than the Berger data. It could be my gun too since I am a bit less...

    6.8 western 170 gr BTs

Not that I'm aware of. I had to guess a bit with them from Hodgdons data. It develops pressure at a lower charge weight than the 170 gr Berger. I just started low and went up slowly.

35 cal 225 gr Accubond (x2) from moose

They are out there so keep your eyes open. The guys on the Facebook group said Midway had them but they sold out quick. Tough to beat this bullet for all around use.

    .270 bullets FS

I'm on the wrong side of the border otherwise lot 1 would be on the way. Those should be right up @SJB358 's alley.

    Nosler Target

I remember that one, much better than most out there.

35 cal 225 gr Accubond (x2) from moose

Cool to see this one come up again. I saw on the 35 Whelen Facebook group that they are running 225 gr Accubonds right now. It's been a while since they have.

What will be your cartridge/rifle of choice for this fall? Second?

Thanks JD, I sure hope we can get a bull in close for her. The 120 gr TTSX will work great if we do.

What will be your cartridge/rifle of choice for this fall? Second?

My wife and I drew a moose tag this fall so my first choice will be the Tikka in 6.8 Western with 175 gr Sierra TGK bullets. I'm going to load up some 120 gr Barnes TTSX bullets in her 6.5x55 Tikka and try to get a bull in to under 200 yards or so. If it's out father I'll use the 6.8 W since she...

    338 Lapua and Zeiss V6

I would bet it's the scope unfortunately. Sounds like a good reason to get a Nightforce on that big 338 in some solid mounts.

Trail Cam Before & After Debby

Wow that's amazing your trail cam survived that. I'm in the market for some so this looks really good. Everything looks to be well watered now!

    280ai 160g accubond

Really like the looks of that laminate stock JD338. I know a bunch of guys went with the 280 AI because of how well that gun works.
