140 out of a 7mm-08 should be an AccuBond or a Partition. If you want to try TTSX, drop down to 120. And they like a jump, probably farther than you think. Nothing wrong with experimentation. P

You’re right about the Tikka but wrong about the cartridge. 7mm-08. Deer, elk, antelope, all have fallen quickly (surprisingly so, in the case of multiple bulls) to a single well-placed shot. P

I get that, but some items, 160 AB among them, are hard to find, much less available on sale. I tend to buy 500 at minimum. P

Shooters Pro Shop wants $30 per bag of 50 for seconds. This isn’t off factory firsts by much. Then add $13 to ship and you’re really close to parity. P

It’s my understanding that Nosler doesn’t make a bullet that closely replicates another bullet’s performance in the same weight. Same reason they don’t make a 7mm 120 grain AccuBond, the existing 120 BT provides nearly identical performance.

If you don’t like the price, don’t pay it. Don’t whine about it, either. You shoulda stocked up. P

26.5 grains of Benchmark with 50 grain BT gives me 3400 fps and scary accuracy in multiple .223s. Small rifle CCI primers. P

52 grains and a 162 eldx got me bright, shiny ejector marks and 2730 FPS from my Tikka. Easy bolt lift, though. I get 2790 with the 150 eldx using 46.2 grains of Big Game. Doing the math, there’s very little difference until I get past 700 yards, which is waaaaay beyond my limit. P

I’m thinking I might want to try the new 150 gr AccuBond in the Mighty -08. Does anyone have experience with this combination? P

Big Game. Get some and use a magnum primer. I get 2890 FPS with 140 Partitions and 2870 with 140 AccuBonds. Precision I won’t post for fear of being called a liar.
