How long do you allow the barrel to cool between shots? I know there are variables, but wanted to start the thread....

My buddy's 760 .270 shot 1.5" groups with Rem 130 Cor-Locts in factory fodder. His shooting style was to whip his head back quickly to avoid getting whacked by the ocular lense of the Charles Daily scope. Comical to watch. But it woked for him.

So what jump have you found is the best place to start for Ballistic tips? Accubonds? Partions ? I know all rifles vary, but all info helps.

I bought the Hornady comparator. Seems as though it will be a great help.

Absolutely clean it! My friends 30-06 was grouping like a shotgun. I cleaned it with the outers cop-out system. Worked up load that groups under an inch. Scrub that barrel. Make sure the screws are tight.

True. Alliant powders shoot the best for me as well. I'm trying Grand and N560 in the .270 and .300WM.

The 130 tip at that velocity is fantastic on deer. My go to bullet.

I have an RCBS seating die. I checked and cleaned out die,etc. The bullet tip does not bottom out for certain. Any other thoughts?

Understood. The question is how do I adjust the seating die to seat bullets on the ogive. The seater does so where it contacts the bullet closer to the tip.
