I wish more manufacturers would include the European calibers here.
I really do like them a lot, especially the 9,3x62! It has all of what I want in a caliber, high ballistic coefficient bullets, high sectional density bullets, and can be used for anything here in North America, plus most...
I have to agree with you about the polymer stocks! I wish every synthetic stock manufacturer would copy the Sauer 100’s stock.
That’s what a stock should be.
I was wondering if that was the only difference compared to your 100 XT? Now I know.
I’m really chomping at the bit to go and do some...
Hey Dr.Mike!
I was wondering if you could whittle up some QL Data for the 9.3x62mm, bullet weight range 232 grs to 300 grs., with a 22 inch barrel, 1 in 14 inch twist.
If at all possible, run the loads at 60k psi first, and run second loads at 64k psi, please?
Thank you in advance!
Hawk
Yes, they do balance very well, especially it being such a big cartridge and huge hole in the barrel.
The trigger is the best I’ve ever seen on any rifle I’ve ever had, too.
What’s not to like about it?
I just ordered an extra Mag from the first vendor you suggested. It was the least out of any...
You hit the nail right on the head with the Sauer 100 Black!
Thank you for being so knowledgeable about the Sauer 100 line of rifles! I do enjoy when members can impart their knowledge to help me with a given rifle of mine.
It’s awesome you have the .30-06 version! Congratulations! I can feel...
UPDATE:
Got my Sauer 100 Black in, and it’s a BEAST!!
I, think, the reason they called it BLACK, is because exactly that’s what everything on it is.
Where the safety markings are, just black, but it has the indentations to let you know where the safety lever engages, etc…
The detachable box...
What I like about the caliber, the bullets have a high ballistic coefficient compared to other medium bores, along with higher sectional density, so the bullets dig deep, and that’s a huge plus for the bigger critters, especially those that bite, if I do want to go on a Grizz hunt at some point...
Norma factory ammo is usually pretty hot stuff. They like to make sure their ammo is trying to go to factory speeds, and the European SAAMI equivalent is usually stouter than ours.
All of your loads show that you, and your rifle are extremely accurate.
One of the gun writers said that the 9.3x62...
Holy Crap!!
Now that’s some excellent accuracy there!!
Have you noticed that the rifle tends to like higher velocity loads than the lower velocity loads?
So Speer 270 gr Hot Core shoot well also?

Hello everyone!
I just ordered my first ever Sauer 100 Black, but I have a nagging suspicion that it is actually the Sauer 100 Classic XT in 9.3x62 Mauser.
She has a 22 inch barrel, with a 1 in 14 inch twist.
I ordered a one piece steel base that has partial picatinny rails on it to mount a...
I have to agree with you, the Warne rings are quite nice looking.
I have a set of Talley bases and rings on my Weatherby Mk V that are very strong and aesthetically pleasing, so I may go with those.
I, too, would like to see more of the European cartridges in the Sauer 100 line. I think the...
Oh yes, I remember how your Sauer 100 Ceratech looks and groups! Here I was thinking it was stainless. But thank you for clearing that up to me.
Yes, I have already been looking at an extra magazine for it. Thank you for the suggestion.
I’m betting mine is the Sauer 100 Classic XT, and the ad...
Awww! Shucks!
I’m thinking you’ll get one when you can, after all the expenses are taken care of, I’m sure.
I feel you there. Been there many times myself.
