6 ARC, pockets are tight, but casehead expansion is so much that there is a distinct ring above the rim at the bottom of the die. Hornady brass do fine. Also having a problem with SRP 6.5 creed but that is probably my ignorance, didn't know it takes a different firing pin in most AR10's
I do the same except I run the next size up expander ball into the case, instead of painting it. case life of belted cases is greatly improved if you set your die so the cartridge will headspace not only on the belt but also the shoulder.
Federal match srp's, tried some staball 6.5, still piercing primers at anything around 2700 fps with 135's, velocity is creeping up with slower burning powders, going to give 7828ssc a whirl
Anyone having problems with it? I bought them due to scarcity of large rifle primers. It seems when I get close to book max loads, I start having weird pressure signs with dismal velocities. Pierced primers, cratered primers, zero case head expansion, doesn't seem to be sticky on extraction...
how many times have we saw this in the past?
244 went to 6mm due to a twist change
223 went from a standard 12 twist to 9
22-250 went from a 14 twist to 9
270 WSM went to 6.8 western with a twist change
beginning to think either the makers are just now learning about twists or its all a big scam...
