Are you planning on driving in, setting up camp and then hiking in further?
I'd recommend boots with good ankle support.
Old school compass and paper maps as back up. Sometimes the GPs won't work deep in the hillsides.
Walking sticks? Helps with packing game out and keeping balance on...
Living at a high altitude proves issues with those company's that use the air packs. They stuff the box full when they tape it up, and by the time it's at my door, it's bloated into an orb and the tape is screaming for its life trying to hold on. One tap with the knife point and it explodes...
Sorry I couldn't hop back on last night. Haven't used the iPad in over a year and it took 3 hours to charge to 2%. Called it quits at midnight and went to sleep for four hours before an hour and half drive to the airport.
Flying southwest, they do not have assigned seats so I looked on the...
If you still have the pants, try spreading some baking soda on them, and then pour a good amount of hydrogen peroxide and cover it for a few hours. It's a homemade, very powerful oxyclean. I've always wanted to know if it could take the smell of skunk out of clothes.
I just changed back to the Mac OS so I can get my iPad ready for a trip... When it's done updating I can switch back to Windows if no one else has done one yet.
Just for giggles:
11 twist miller stab said 1.11
12 twist Miller stab said .9
Haha, yeah for some reason I put 9.25 instead of 9.5 in the post above. Meant to say they were "calcuated with a 9.5 twist. "
I could do one at 11 twist just to see the numbers, but if the optimal twist says ten, I don't think 11 is slow enough. If accurateshooter is right with optimal twist...
Compared to the best indicated loads from Nosler's 160gr Accubond data... I think it'll do just fine in the 9.25 twist. I used 9.5 (my rifles twist) to model the above QL.
Your 168gr ABLR is the bottom line. It calculates to the optimal twist rate of 10.3, rounded to 10.
Lung powered, various caliber, stubby tactical straw, true 1x optics, inherently silenced.
Only thing I do not like about it is the very low BC and lack of knockdown power at extended ranges.
Sorry... I couldn't stop myself. We were taking about mini weapons at work and spit wad came up.
There is the 6.5 Creedmoor (savage mod 10 hunter) in a MDT TAC21 chassis.
.308 Rem 700 SPS in Magpul "hunter" stock will be arriving back from getting threaded here soon.
Fun guns.
I shoot 142's in the creedmoor as well, but with R17. 41.7gr I think. I'm working on a 129gr load for the .260 as well, though I might scrap it and go heavier if the results don't improve with the temperature. The inaugural post bedding group was 2" at 100 yards. Hot weather load developed...
That's is neat. I have a 455 in .22 lr and have wanting to change the barrel to .17 hmr... Need to get one quick since I've seen places starting to say they've been discontinued, or maybe it was just midway doing their thing.
Haha! I'll do some deeper Internet digging to see if I can find the Nosler ones. I think I saw the beartooth's...
Darn city ordinances!!!!! There's a good 400-500 of them a few blocks over from my house that taught and tease me every time I go get the mail! And the rabbits...
I hope...
Shooting at orange dots and diamonds has been fun, things are shooting nice so time to take it further... Found some prairie dog targets online and made some copies. It reminded me of the varmageddon commercial so I looked to see if Nosler also had a downloadable prairie dog targets. Didn't...
If I help, do I get to pick a song to be sung at Dr.'s funeral?

No kidding my hands were shaking a little when I was doing the laminate bedding job. All I could think about was hoping I did everything I was supposed to.
They look good- I'm really interested to see how they shoot. I've been saving up for a B&C stock for my mod 70 7mm rem mag shadow or...
I would not load from this or think that the PSI is at all accurate. I do not have a lot of confidence in QL's estimates of the 300 RUM and retumbo powder. I think QL's Pro- or Degressivity factor is not very accurate for this much retumbo. I could be wrong on which component of QL is off...
