Range was 185 yds. Hit the bear face on and found the bullet opposite side behind the ribs inside the cutaneous fat. Broke the jaw and a few ribs.
I have a couple Marlin 375s and a W94 in 375. Really liking the 375, just hard to find components.

The 220s are rare to come across. If you want to try some 235 gr cast., i bought some from Carolina Cast that have shot well
As I look over the data, just does not seem to be much difference (150-200 FPS) difference.
I have a Savage 6.5-285 Norma with a long action that I can seat the bullets long.
I also have a Sako Finnlight in 6.5 Swede that also allows the bullets to be seated long.
They both shoot well, just...
I am looking for these for spring bear which here is Oregon is lots of spotting on clear cuts. Here is my ride to the tops of the clear cuts. Upon seeing the right bear, the stalk begins. So, weight to carry himing is less of a concern as my Zeiss HD 10x cover that
Thinking a out trying some high power binos for spot and stalking bears. Put them on a tripod and glass for a while. Anyone with experience?
I have a nicespotter already but mainly use it at the range. Also have good 10 X binos which are quite nice too

I have a 10 x 14 Kodiac tent. Had it a couple years. Lots of room and sturdy and dry. My has the end windows for summer ventolation.

Old thread....but thinking about the 120 gr E-tip for my 6.5-284 Norma. Anyone have experience with this bullet? My rifle is a Savage with a long chamber. Shoots 140 CC very well and starting to work up a hunting load for black bears. Either 140 AB or Partition, but then what about the 120...
Have a like new Sako Finnlight coming in next week. Already have one in 30-06 that I have dialed in for 180 gr Partitions. Was thinking about running lighter bullets in this one. Maybe 150 gr E-tips, old stand bye 165 Partitions or 165 gr AB? Primary purpose black bears, elk, maybe a pig...
