Bushing neck size dies.....Redding or RCBS?

Any real world difference in neck bushing resizing dies between RCBS and Redding? Used Redding before but saw RCBS dies and bushings are a little less costly, so asking for any preferences anyone has whom has used both. Thanks, as always. God Bless Steve

Not everyone's cup of tea but a score in my book.

Thanks, Guy. Anyone happen to know how much different RL-22 and RL-23 there is? I cant find squat on 23's density or how much different the burn rate is. Thanks to everyone. I know I'm flat tickled with it, for sure. God Bless Steve

Not everyone's cup of tea but a score in my book.

I bet so, Ron. I had a Varmint 25-06 in 1969. First new rifle I ever bought. I lugged that beast up and down miles of RR tracks blasting groundhogs. If I were younger and well off I wouldnt mind having the full set. Every one of the 5 or so Ive ever shot were tack drivers. I wouldnt mind...

Not everyone's cup of tea but a score in my book.

A mini-range report for you 26Nosfan, lol I have a box of OLD 100 grain core-lokt Remingtons. I wondered how they would shoot simply because they do NOT measure .243 but .242. I kind of expected them to be all over, so.....I loaded up a bit stiff of a load with RL-17, made sure the ogive...

Not everyone's cup of tea but a score in my book.

I had a 6mm Remington in a Model 600 decades ago. Wasn't real impressed with the rifle but I did find the round a ball of fun. Another one I should have kept, lol. Anyway, I've been watching the classifieds and auctions and this popped up.........at a price that had me slack-jawed for a few...

I'm very happy for you. Opinions vary.

Wow - Lot's of Hype for the 6.5s

Probably nothing. Both are shooting bullets with a SD (and therefore bullet weight) WAY more than any POSSIBLE shot requirement for a deer to 300 yards. Work? Sure...... would either be my choice? Hardly..maybe for elk if I was ever blessed enough to be able to hunt them once more. Keep in...

Wow - Lot's of Hype for the 6.5s

It's probably a whole different wheelhouse here in the cornfields of Indiana where 300 yards is an EXTREMELY long shot, no matter who you are. The ones I've heard chatting on it wouldn't know 300 yards if it bit them in the hindquarters to get their attention and held up a sign. Yep, HERE the...

    "Front Shoulder" and other terms...

My ex was from a suburb of the Windy City. Even after I ruined her and got her into hunting (one deer with muzzleloader, one with bow) she would still ask me when I came home from hunting: "Did you catch anything?" Always cracked me up. She passed in 2012 after we split but I'm still online...

    Could I rechamber a 243Win to 6mmBR or 6mmDasher?

While a set-back and rechamber are entirely possible, I would wonder what you wish to do with it. I'm not entirely positive but I think the Howa is a 1-10 twist barrel. If planning on shooting long range targets I'd check into the twist rate required for your bullets of choice. The heavy for...

Quickload .243 winchester Sierra 85 HP and 85 TSX

Super. You should be all set. Let me know if you find any "super loads", LOL. The whole primer thing is a bit of a quandary ....however, I DO know that there is just ONE single thing that manufacturers are allowed do to "proof loads" that is different from the service loads. I forget the...

Quickload .243 winchester Sierra 85 HP and 85 TSX

Curious, Preacher, so a question if allowed. I know of no others locally shooting the 243 Win so I have a question. What is your case capacity on fired, neck sized brass? After reading the thread in the link above I was going...........whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa? Trying to figure out just how...

    Do barrels "get faster"?

Read MY post again. I did not apply any powder limitation to the 240 Weatherby. MAYBE you can find "a" load that fast.....AND AT THAT PRESSURE, but you'll have to scrounge. I've doubts you can find a LOAD DATA for the 240 Weatherby at ANY pressure that fast. Again........this is all MOOT as...

    Do barrels "get faster"?

Perhaps........just perhaps, I am not understanding the calculation. I am not perfect but..... Those standing behind the 4-1 "rule", show me the calculations. 240 Weatherby mag 6mm Remington Regardless of what the maximum pressure "rating" is believed to be for maximum pressure, THIS maximum...

    Do barrels "get faster"?

as mentioned......"YMMV" What MD doesnt understand about comparing the same rifle to multiple and with any kind of "rule".......scares me, and I'm fearless. LOL and yes, the SOFTER , PRESSURE FIT primer is indeed the "weak link" pressure wise in properly sized to chamber brass. Ask any long...

    Do barrels "get faster"?

However, in the real world.......comparing "load data" with the 4-1 "rule", until one can buy 10 rifles of the same caliber and they ALL get the same velocities (instead of 50-100fps difference).....is hardly accurate for real results. The ORIGINAL "4-1" estimate was stated by Homer Powley in...

    Do barrels "get faster"?

The fact that barrels themselves do change combined with how different custom barrels are to factory in performance is a very intriguing to me. While I doubt we can ever grasp how even minute changes in any of the factors could be controlled, the fact that there USUALLY is a difference and...

Nothing fancy but.....I LIKE! I need a hand with something.

Dang. These two stocks are my 3rd and 4th, the first two on 350 Mag classics. I've never had any issues with the finish at all. This one is a 243 Weenie......err......Winny :P ....recoil wont be an issue, especially on the cut and re-padded stock. The must have cut it a tad short and they...
