According to the Speer data, CFE 223 is right behind PP200MR, so I will certainly give it a try if I can't find the other. I don't have info on it either, other than Speer.
HAHAHA...
I have QL info for other powders at 57250, so I am looking to see an apples to apples comparison. If it looks like the stuff I'll go track some down, otherwise I'll stick to RL17.
Based on the latest Speer and Sierra Data, this is supposed to be THE powders for the Whelen. Anyone have time to run this combo for me?
75.5 grains of H2O
22" barrel
250 Speer Hotcore
3.375" OAL
57250 PSI
Thanks in advance.
You cut the hull (right above the gas seal on the wad), almost completely in two, leaving just enough material to keep the top from separating. When you shoot it, it acts kind of like a slug.
Good deal.
Yeah...those first two jugs were shredded into multiple pieces...some going frame left and some frame right. That thing hit so hard that you could read the writing from the bottom of the first 4 jugs in the 2x12 that I set them on - permanently embossed in the fir.
Since I took delivery of my Model 70 Featherweight in 35 Whelen AI I have been wanting to do this test. I certainly don't have a use for this bullet currently, but there is something about lobbing 310 grains of copper and lead that will put a grin on your face!
I couldn't get the chronograph...
