I am thinking about working up a load with my 300 win using 200g NAB. What do you guys get in the way of velocity. The Nosler site says 2910 I believe with 70g of H4831. I only get 2930 with 75g 4831 and a 180g nab. I have a 24 in barrel on one of the 1995 Remington stainless bdl’s. Accuracy is...
Moose this year was successful with a few casualties. Nearly drown, swimming with hip boots in swift rivers, not recommended. My pack is on its way to the bearing sea, and our canoe is vacuum packed against logs under water. However after a long walk later that night after reaching the cabin...
I checked with the above manufacturer and they are out but will be running some soon they say. The 338 rum is a fantastic round for elk and moose. it will do a great job of over kill on lesser animals but dead is dead. It is really a hammer on Elk in the 500 to 700 yard range.

Jason I am out in Ridgway, Montrose is the closest large town. I am going to run these over the trap and see how fast we are going. if I break 2800 I think we have a winner. load development with the rum is like shooting $3 bills.
Sorry I haven't been back sooner but I am training again and then the holidays ect. and now back in training in FL for 5 more weeks.
Well this is what it looks like 90g RL25with a 250 Berger elite hunter. I cant get any RL26 yet in southern Colorado, or at least I cant find any. 6 rounds, I...
Ok I know its apples and oranges but not so much. A 250 gr partition launched at 3020 fps vs a Berger 250 gr elite hunter at 2900 fps. At 500 yards the POI is only 4 inches different but at 1000 yards its almost 21 inches different. The Berger starts to shine past 500, the bc of the Berger is...
Dr. Mike can you run some numbers for RL 26 and RL 23 for Berger 250g Elite Hunter bullets in the 338 Rum.
I have been talking with Berger and they Don't recommend Retumbo, and RL 25 is not really their favorite either. So I have RL 22 on hand and have data for that but not the other two. The...
I have not, but I am a 338 rum guy. retumbo and rl 25 have been my go to powders. Don't want to Hijack your post but if anyone has any data that they are getting good results with Berger 250"s please share!

The oak brush and buck brush removed all but one of the lens covers on my binoculars this year, so I called Vortex to get some new ones. They were great and agreed to ship me new ones asap at no charge. All I can say is great service.

Thanks, Here is the muzzleloader bear. I want a bayonet if I ever hunt bears again with the muzzleloader, 20 yards is too close with all that smoke when we are both on the ground together.
My 338 rum is still the hammer in my safe. 509 yards he took two 250g NPT. It seems like Elk can take a beating like no other animal, nearly all I have shot take two pills even if the engine room is gone on the first shot. Dead on their feet I guess, I haven't shot one inside 400 lately.
