I am thinking about working up a load with my 300 win using 200g NAB. What do you guys get in the way of velocity. The Nosler site says 2910 I believe with 70g of H4831. I only get 2930 with 75g 4831 and a 180g nab. I have a 24 in barrel on one of the 1995 Remington stainless bdl’s. Accuracy is key but velocity is not insignificant where we hunt shots are usually 350-600 yards. I had to hunt elk without my 338 rum and the 300 was a bit under powered.

Any number of powders like RL22, IMR7828SSC, RL25 and a few others I’m forgetting would all push 2900-3000 out of a couple 300 Wins I’ve had. Retumbo, H1000, etc will also work along with RL26. H4831 is a really great powder but it won’t get you the speed numbers the others will, but it’s danged consistent and I think you could eek out 2900 or a bit more from it as well. I wanna say back in the days of having a 300 WSM I was up over 2900 with that, 200 Partitions and H4831SC if I remember correctly.

All of my 300’s have been 24”Er’s as well. 200 AB from 2700 on up is serious business! Seen it crush a bunch of elk.

I've only tried this load once, but here is how it did.
