Finally got to the range with the Frankensavage. 108 ELD-m and Leverevolution. I’m happy with the results. In the interest of full disclosure, the group was shot off a lead sled.
Sitting here looking at my grandson's RC truck, and it occurred to me that with some JB weld, and fiberglass driveway markers, I could make a remote control mobile target frame. I could sit at the bench and run the target out to the desired distance without moving an inch, and not have to call a...
Soooo, the "defenders of democracy" are tossing out the primary votes of millions because their horse is lame and they're wanting to slip in a replacement in the final laps? Everyone who cast their ballot for Joe had to see what condition he is in and willingly voted for him nonetheless . His...
Two minutes in to the congressional hearing on the Trump assassination attempt, Jamie Raskin (D) managed to find a way to blame the AR-15. May as well go fishing, it's evident the Dems will just use this hearing to assault the 2A, and the USSS director won't actually answer any questions...
They're available online just about anytime, although the supply on hand is low and goes pretty quick, but if you're tenacious you can easily get them. You can't be picky over brand, though.
Yep, found out in desperation when I lost the tiny little Allen screw. I tried the brass knurled screw from the lock n load OAL gauge. Found some at Lowes in the pull out drawers with the odd ball parts in them. FYI they're 6-32 thread size.
It’s also not uncommon to register in the opposition party to be able to vote in the midterms to pollute the election. But I have no idea what PA’s voting laws are.
Swapped out the 16” barrel on the 350 legend for a 20”. This is a blind and shooting shack gun, so the little extra umph gained from the added 4” seemed a good trade off. He’s shooting the 158 grain fury bullet over 29.5 H110. Just cracking 2500 fps. That first shot (in the video) shocked him a...
Good work! I've shot the most with a 7-08 and 120 V-max. That makes for a very effective combination. I have the 6 ARC and 80 grain ELD-VT itching to get out and go after some coyotes.
Side note on the over travel screw, I had to remove some material from the head of the screw as well because it rubbed inside the stock. Looking back cutting the head off and cutting a groove for a screwdriver would have been better.
Picked up this Savage 6mm ARC a while back and it was a decent shooter out of the box, but I wanted to play with some mods. First was replace the factory plastic stock with a heavier Magpul Hunter stock with aluminum pillars. It uses AICS mags, and doesn't come with one. They're great mags, but...
It's a spacing issue. Play with the spacer blocks. Unless it's a bull barrel, I always use the thinner spacer block. Also the bayo may not be level. A piece of cleaning rod or wood dowel aids in aligning everything. From the updated PDF manual:
The error 2 message you are seeing is actually a...
Man, that 64 BSB has been my bullet of choice for the 223 and hogs for a while. Never recovered one, but the sure do punch through and leave a very dead hog between the two holes. When I catch them at SPS on the cheap I stock up. They look like they have the BC of boxcar, but they fly great, for...
It's a pretty forgiving case, and many powders suit it well, and you MAY find something with a 120 and W748, but I don't think it'll do well with anything heavier, case fill is going to be really low. Reloder 17 is my favorite for all bullet weights, but its as rare as unicorn feathers, now...
