I used my 416 Rem die to do the first step. A 375H&H shrinks it a lot, with the body taper it has, and tends to wrinkle the neck and shoulder.
Good to hear on the brake.
How has the Petersons brass handled the pressure? It works good in my 300wm but I haven't used it in anything else. I have always shot Winchester in my 375-358STA but I bought 400 of the Peterson wildcat tubes to try. I shoot 89grs of IMR4350 with 250gr Sierras at 3085fps in mine. It's a hot...
I ordered a V4 autotrickler about 6 months ago and it just came in. They are supposed to ship it Monday. My dad, my kids and I are going to go prairie dog shooting this summer and I wanted something to help speed things up reloading. I have a good customer that does load workup for a lot of the...
If it's not too many guns I'd fly with them rather than ship them in a Jeep. Better to have them with you then chancing them with someone else IMO. It cost a bit but it will cost to ship them FFL to FFL as well if you choose that option.
Thanks Mike. I'm sorry to hear that about the ladies, particularly April. She has probably more knowledge on Africa then anyone on this board. I hope she pulls through whatever ailes her. I'm amazed someone would try to cause issues with someone's job like that. That is way beyond low IMO...
Has anyone heard from the ladies? It looks like April hasn't posted since last August. I didn't check into Cheyenne or Jamilia's post. I miss their unique input.
Years ago Nosler beefed up the shank of the 180gr .30 Ballistic Tips and bigger so they would perform well on elk. I've cut them in half and the jackets in the back of the bullets are nearly 3 times as thick as the front. I know tons of elk around here were shot with the 200gr BT's with 338wm's...
R-15 is one of the fastest powders out there for the 375 H&H. I used it years ago with 260 Ballistic Tips and Accubonds. We even used it for the 220 flat point when we shot rockchucks with the 375's. BTW the 375 bullets are way too tough for good rockchucks medicine if you like to see parts...
I think the .270 punches above it's grade because most bullets made were specifically for it's velocity range and performed exceptionally well. Most other calibers had several choices and velocity ranges. Not all bullets work well when you try to fit a myriad of velocity ranges.
I didn't pay attention to this thread because I figured it was a story about someone else, not you Guy. Sorry to hear about this but I'm glad you got a few pheasants on the way back to the Jeep. If it was the end there aren't many better ways to go out, hanging out with your son and dog doing...
We haven't eaten them. They ship them to Houston for the meat and hides. They use to just throw them in the bushes. The first time we were down here the guides said they taste like fishy chicken. They are an invasive species and there is a estimated 6 million on the island with a human...
The family made the long trek back to Puerto Rico for some iguana hunting this week. My dad, my boys and myself managed to slay a few tree dragons with .25 cal airguns. The picture with the dozer had 57 in it. We failed to collect probably 40 more for one reason or another that day. The picture...
I've used tons of different scopes and I've gradually migrated to Nightforce and some Leupolds. I really think Leupold missed the boat making their TMOA reticle with only 10 MOA in the reticle with 1 MOA spacing. They have 15 and 20 MOA too on a much thicker section but I generally don't take...
My first choice would be a 300wsm. Second would be any other 300 magnum (300wm, 30 Nosler, 30-8mm Rem Mag, 300 PRC, etc). The 300wsm does about 95+% of any of the others with less powder, less recoil, and has been proven to be more accurate.
I like smaller calibers too but the .30's and up just...
I use a Fenix 1200 lumen headlamp. It has several brightness levels and the 18650 battery last quite a while on the lower settings. I would look at their flash lights if I was looking for a flash light. I have a spare battery with a charging port in it that I take along hunting as well as a...
