Esteemed Members, Please Relay Your Experiences with 7mm Mau

Its possible I you might have read this already, and if so, I apologize for repeating myself. My father had a good friend Ron who was a rifle looney like the rest of us. He owned a Winchester Model 70 Featherweight in 7x57. He sold the gun to another mutual friend who never used the gun much...

Let's buy the perfect out west gun.

Lots of good suggestions and as someone pointed out already, much can be said about 2 important things. 1. Shot Placement 2. Bullet choice. I believe they both go hand in hand. Assuming that your friend can shoot decently, and assuming he or you can handload it will open many more options up to...

"Newly" Acquired Win M70 in 7mm Mauser (.275 Rigby)

Congrats on a fine rifle and a fantastic caliber. Im sure you'll get some great use and make many memories with it. 3 Years ago, my dad gifted me one of these in the same chambering. Since then its gotten its fair share of use. Ive developed several loads for it, but for whitetail deer, the...

    New Woods, New Muzzeloader

I havent been serious about Muzzeloader hunting maybe ever. I havent really cared about it since about 2011 and that was the last deer I killed with one. The last Muzzeloader I had was a Remington and although revolutionary at the time, it was a real pain to clean it. Since 2011 the world of...

West Virginia Firearms Season - 3 Weeks in the Woods

Thanks, the rifle was a flat dark earth when it was purchased but I painted it. I tried to emulate the KUIU Vias camo pattern but I didn't quite hit the correct color scheme. He likes it so that's all that matters I guess.

West Virginia Firearms Season - 3 Weeks in the Woods

West Virginia Firearms Buck Season opened on Nov. 23rd, 2020. At the same time, Antlerless season was in select counties so a hunter with both tags in his pocket could put some meat in the pot. Opening day was one for the ages. My father, son Brandon, and a good friend from work Grant, and I...

    130 Grain E-Tip Loads for 270 Winchester

Im late to the party on this one, but I thought Id share my limited experience with the Nosler ETip in a 270. If I recall correctly I was loading these with 58.0gr of H4831sc and a Federal 210 L.R. in Winchester brass. Rifle was a Remington 700 with a 22'' tube. This was from a buck I killed...

    H1000?

    Barnes TSX, any leads?

I know your 168gr TSXs have worked, but the best thing about the mono metal bullets is you dont need to throw extra weight like you do with the cup and cores. For deer Id be using 130s and elk and up youd still be fine with no more than a 150 from your 308. Id venture to say that a 130 TSX...

    Multiple loading

Agree with FOTIS, if it passes the paperclip test, and the primer pockets are still tight enough to hold a primer, then Id keep loading until you get a crack in the neck, shoulder, or the primer pockets loosen up. YMMV.

Hodgdon acquires Ramshot and Accurate powders

I share many of the same concerns that you guys do. Its already occurred to me that they will be able to almost set their own price since the now control Hodgdon, IMR, Winchester, and are adding Accurate, Ramshot, and Blackhorn209. Hodgdon hasnt been great with keeping up with the demand for...

    RWS Brass

I had always heard great things about Rws brass and I just thought id give it a shot. I do have some Lapua for my 8x57 and wish that Lapua made 7x57 but for the life of me, I do not understand why they dont.

    RWS Brass

I would like to try some RWS brass in 7x57 or 8x57 or both. I know that Huntington Reloading sells some of their products, but I can only find the 8x57 rimmed version and I need it for a 8x57 bolt action. I was wondering if anyone knew of a place to purchase RWS brass.

Looking for Data for 280 Ack Imp for RL-26

Im looking for a starting point to use Reloader 26 in my 280 Ackley Improved with the Sierra 165gr GameChanger. I have several loading manuals that have data for the the 280 AI but none of them have Reloader 26 listed. I emailed Sierra and they didnt bother to reply. Could someone run this...

Nosler 280 Ackley Improved Brass Out Of Stock No Back Order

Ridgerunner, I doubt youd hear anything from them on the issue anyways. I did email them and still haven't gotten a response. I checked mine again for the donut in the neck you mentioned and I dont see it or feel it on mine that I can tell. Im going to load it and use it since I already paid...

Nosler 280 Ackley Improved Brass Out Of Stock No Back Order

Ridgerunner, After seeing your picture that you posted, I agree with your assesment. The box I bought was of the same batch obviously, because my headstamps are the same as the one on the left in the picture you posted. Have you emailed Nosler, to see if they would shed any light into the...
