I did hit high.......and some bone........but I don't think that is too bad for an exit. I would guess at longer ranges there would be less damage etc.
I've gotten bigger.......but not a bad Goat......not a lot of mass though!! This definitely did not test the abilities of the rifle/load though.........getting ready to shoot at 200 yards and he starts walking towards me......ended up about 140 yards LOL. DRT though.........which is always good.
I would shoot whichever is more accurate......which is typically the BT. I took an Antelope at 140 yards with a 95gr. BT and it worked very well......complete pass through on a broadside shot.......good expansion/exit.
I believe these 170 grainers were designed specifically for the new 6.8 Western.......I assume with a faster twist. I just had a 270 Weatherby built with a 1-8" and I'm hoping these bullets are tack drivers in it, but have not reloaded for it yet.
I have a 1-8" twist 270 Weatherby and I'm planning to load up a bunch of 170 grain Ballistic Tip bullets to test out. Any reloading data/info or other thoughts/ideas would be greatly appreciated.
